Mike I just saw this thread. It shits me how something so simple can be so much of a pain to man and machine!!! As has been already said, any off is bad. Am glad you are in a position to post.

bit of an update on the knee
The knee has continued to swell, and has taken on a nice black and green tinge. So after many tellings to get a second opinion I went to my Gp this morning. He gave me a tetnus shot, and sent me straight to have x-rays. Apparently I have very strong bones and am not trying anywhere hard enough to break any. However, I have fluid on the joint, an infection and bruising down my calf which is of some worry.
I now have another week off work, a decent bandage and a hefty cocktail for drugs (antibiotics, anti inflamatory and heavy duty pain killers). I have to stay off the knee for a while and go back to the docs Thur. If there is no improvement by then I will have either ultrasound or MRI to see if there is any ligament damage.
Still waiting on news of the bike, but will update as and when news arrives.
