cw..bad luck mate...guess the $150 or so for 3rd party insurance woulda been worth it...hindsight is a wondefful thing huh...

as for mum's, mine was the same too wen i wasa youngen..always lecturing me, never wanting me to ride...2 things i did to help her get over it
1. took her for a scoot on the back of my zx6r....she realised why i loved it so much..
2. pulled a killer wheelie past her on one of the nsw highways..went for maybe 400m or so?
she knows i can ride...to some degree...she knows im in no hurry to die...and she knows nagging wont change shit....

make ur own decisions mate...live ur own life

The guy with the VN had 3rd party property, if it's like the 3rd party property on my bike, he'll be covered for up to $5k in repair costs. So if you've got his insurer details, contact them, and say that your willing to pay back, but due to budgetory constraints, you cant do it at a terribly fast rate, maybe $15-35 a week or something, depending on whats suits your income.

The guy will have his car repaired/written off/whatever within a couple of weeks and you'll be doin the payback for a year or two. Not anything to really freak out about. In that time you could prolly get something together and have the bike sorted, if you wanted to. You dont have to go utterly screwing yourself over to pay for the repair costs... not unless your frigging keen to do so.

btw 3rd party property=lifesaver at times. was in a multi car accident when i had a camira, insured for 2.5k (yes i lied on the application but they didnt mind), ended up havin 3 other cars in the accident, freshly imported skyline with 25k of damage, magna with about 15k of damage, and a 2000 or so model commodore with about 8k of damage. Magna driver was dui, so insurance told him to get farked, skyline was gotten by the guys on the friday (it was a sunday) and was going to go take it to get insured the next day!!! commodore driver had no insurance.

a couple months later i get a check for a thousand dollars to repair a minor ding in the front left 1/4 panel and replace a busted indicator. I replaced the indicator, and pocketed the thou, thank you mr insurance agency.

Is it worth pursuing the council in regards to maintaining the road? If there were 6 other bike fairings nearby, then someone needs to be made aware of the problem.
Might be an option :?:
