Sorry but I reckon 4 - 7 weeks is a joke. Get em to get bits off a demo bike and let them sweat it out! Can you imagine the stink that would arise if car drivers had to wait a month for parts? Puuuhhllleeezzee.

these are major internal parts that require many hours labour to get to

Johnnie,
I think it is more that warranty repairs are much lower priority than anything else. And regardless of the part, there is nothing that should take them more than 1/2 a day to get dismantled, in a fully equipped workshop..... the bad part is the wait for backorodered parts !

hmm
slaps self to be more through in getting my point across
you cant just go and get the bits off a demo bike as these are major internal engine parts
I agree with you 4-7 weeks is a joke , i can get Honda parts in 10 working days ex Japan and suzuki is similar
So to you Swabio, what are you doing about it ?
Talking to Kawasaki Australia ? or just bending over for the wait ?

well the saga continues.........
I have been patiently waiting, and found out today that Kawasaki Australia want my gearbox shipped to Sydney so they can review it etc.......... to see if it is 'user abuse' etc.
So hopefully they will come to the party and honour their warranty.....or I will be a very angry person.....I have already checked the availability of several domain names which I will set up if they attempt to screw me......
As anyone who has ridden with me or seen the way I take care of my bike, would attest to me not giving it a flogging or abusing it at all......
well fingers crossed it comes out favourable to me !

good call, get them to look at the general condition of the rest of the bike in cnjunction with the warranty claim and try and say its been abused.
i'd say pampered is a better word to describe how its treated.
always ridden "as the manufacturer intended" (as i like to call it

) of course

Boy, I hope they've ordered the parts and aren't waiting for the inspection first. Fingers crossed they'll do the right thing.
Good luck

I have already expressed my concern to the dealer that if i get screwed I will not lie there and take it..... I will do everything mortally possible to get what I am entitled to. I was considering upgrading at the end of the year.....guess the new R6 or Daytona 675 just started to look a whole lot better!

Mate, nothing will make the exhaust on the r6 look a whole lot better

but I hear what you're saying, I had the same experience with aprilia.

Well some good news !
Kawasaki are fixing my gearbox under warranty
Although they have claimed it is being done as a 'one off' as they have determined that it was caused by 'Rider Misuse' (***what a load of crap!)
