Sorry, been away for a while!

Its not to difficult to do. As Mizz said, all you need is a hacksaw, drill and file. You can actually remove the fender to do this but it does take time to get it off. I did mine installed and it only took about 45 mins.

1) Removed plate. (Good start!), mounting bracket and reflector (reflector bolted on!)

2) Mark lines where you would like to cut. I went along the sides at the 90 corner to where it met under the fairings. The back I just went right between the two flat faces where the plate mount bracket goes and where the reflector mounts. And then I joined the two markings together with what looked like a good shape.

3) The fun bit. Start cutting. (I actually used a Dremel with a small cutting wheel.) Take your time and leave a little room for error that you can clean up later.

4) Once you have your basic shape, I went in with a Stanley knife and file and finished off the shaping. Obviously, the more time you spend, the more professional the look. Use some sand paper to finish off.

5) Once you have finished shaping and smoothing off, take the plate bracket and line it up with the hole from the reflector. Drill a corresponding hole for the other bolt. I actually mounted the bracket upside down as this gave the plate a better mounting angle when fitted.
Bolt it on and mount your plate. AND 'Bobs your aunties live in lover'..........all done.

I just saw this post after I've done mine. My number plate bracket is vertical... I might try turning it around like you did. The other option is to use small 10mmx50mm brackets between the number plate bolts and two bolts either side of the number plate light. This would achieve the same angle and make the whole thing stiffer as well.

I used a hacksaw blade and cut along the fold line. The cut was very clean and only needed bit of filling. Then I warmed up the cut edges with a lighter and smoothed them out with my finger. I mounted the reflector just bellow the tail light.

Looks heaps better. Makes the rear wheel look fatter and bike higher. A big improvement.

You got get yourself a 6 or 9R for tail chops.
Step 1- Remove everything except seat plastic.
Step 2- Hack off everything that isn't gonna incure a huge hole in the tray and sand edges with a bit of 180.
Step 3- Get some mini indicators and mount them as high up a physically possible.
Step 4- Re drill plate mount holes.
Step 5- Put back together again.
...............Hey Presto...........Perfect tailchop.

Nope, just hadn't noticed any posts from you of late (I'm a trained observer you know...) and I don't pick on people. Unless they deserve it.
