The box actually says "Exhaust/Noise Emissions". So it can either be the exhaust is an illegal modification, or the noise levels are excessive. I'd still check out the law on aftermarket exhausts though.

and the hand writing states "Non Standard Micron Exhaust Fitted"
If it were a noise issue, the Copper would have added something to that affect aswell..
I reckon you got a dud Copper who has his own interpretation of the rules. I would still just take it to an Inspection Station as is and tell them two mechanics told you it already complies.....
I took a new truck for it's first annual RTA Pit Inspection (7-8 years ago). The RTA dude defected me for not having a separate switch for the two auxiliary head lights below the bumper bar. I said it's a stock standard brand new truck built this way. He said the lights are white, they are at the front, so they are driving lights, and driving lights must have a separate switch.
I took it to the Inspection Station and the guy agreed with me and cleared the defect on the spot.

I agree with smithy5's comments. Not all police officers are completely aware of the laws and rules. I have mentioned this a while back, but my mate dangerous dave had a similar experience on the black spur down here in Melbourne. He has a highly modded FZ1. However, he downloaded the relevant ADR's and ensured the bike met them with the mods. The police arsifer in question wanted to defect him for indicators front and rear, fender eliminator and his number plate. Luckily, Dave had the forethought to bring a copy of the relevant ADR's with him and suggested to the arsifer that he could categorically prove them legal here and now before writing the ticket. The arsifer wasn't happy, but the bike actually did comply.
Indicators were the correct spacing apart and were clearly visible from the required angles, the plate was a black and chromed plate. It also was visible from the required angle and of a reflective nature. The fender eliminator was exactly 45 degrees from the axle. In the end, the arsifer thanked dave for enlightening him. To which I told the copper he was an arse for not knowing in the first place and what right did he have to cause inconvenience to a citizen for no reason other than his own ignorance. He didn't like that, but fuck him, I hate how militant the Vic police have become and ANY opportunity to get back at them I will. Fucken arse hats most of them.

Its possible this isn't a noise issue. You said you micron is a full system, not just a slip on?
If that is the case, the bike no longer has a catalytic converter, and it's emissions will be greater than ADR specs. In which case a testing station will have to do a gas analysis.
Exhaust mods are not illegal as long as noise & gas emissions are below required levels.
The box on the form is noise / emissions. The / suggesting gas emissions.

I've just booked in for an inspection tomorrow at a certified mechanic. Taking the bike as is and praying for the best. I'll tell the guy I got nabbed for noise and see if my pipe actually complies with the Db's which I'm actually worried about now as just went outside and gave the bike a few revs to see how loud she actually is without a helmet.
I read 92.0 @ 6000 r/min on the frame
Thanks guys.....keep yas posted...

different state, liability issues, maybe they come here to relax and not think about work, maybe they do help out quietly, via pm. Maybe they only help out established members who they have met and respect, maybe they gave a suggestion already in the thread but didn't want to advertise their occupation...
I can think of dozens of reasons.
Oh, and we have more than one cop on the forum, and what makes you use the masculine pronoun 'he'???

Really, i dont get hassled that much, they treat me with respect, i treat them with respect, but as i posted some time ago, kazz got pulled over some time ago, by a bike cop, who tried to defect her 636 because it only had one headlight working, so what do they except, all jokes aside!!!

Sometimes people come on here and slag off or insult the cops almost immediately without even giving thought to the fact that there might be cops that are forum members.
I think most of them have a sense of humor though. I also reckon that being a member on a forum would hold a lot of similarities with being a cop. You'd have to be tolerant to dickheads. Not that there's any dickheads here

.......except maybe seiko

Off track now aren't we
Do we have a result? I'm dying to see if it was a noise issue or pollution issue.

Its begining to look like a "hit n miss" n00bie user.
Note: I'm happy to retract that statement, if proven otherwise.
