Ok I am bored so I will respond  only to clear up a few things...
Naked Twin wrote:Where it is manufactured is important we say. So manufactured in the US or Canada is better, better than what? Most of what comes out of Canada is crap music, the US car manufacturing, well best we leave that alone. The tyres that we all ride on, majority are from Thailand.

Nothing to do with where more to with whom and the materials they use.

Jonno, we won't be waiting for 50 years for China to enjoy the same reputation as Japan. I will say that China will use a lower grade steel, or rather the iron ore that they dig up is lower quality.

Smithy I have only ever read of one failure for a lever and that was on KSRC, must search for that thread as he got caned if I recall correctly.

I disagree, Yes it is important where certain things are made or sourced, some country's do it better than others in one thing and worse at another, Taiwan makes a lot of quality electronics which is Chinese territory albeit disputed at times but do they make good helicopters or apple strudel? maybe they do.

Motorcycle tyres dont all come from Thialand, try Japan, Germany, France, Usa just to name a few.

Once again your diverting, China gets a lot of their coal, steel and mineral ore from here and other country's, they also source coal from Mongolia. The bamboo they use in scaffolding is stolen from the Pandas ;)

But we are not talking about steel, minerals, Canadian mountaineering songs or American cars are we, it is the quality of manufacturing in cheap Chinese knock off motorcycle accessories we are discussing right!

Or are am I argueing with emotionally charged serial bling people I have offended which I think is shit hot :P

Pussy, my first track bike had a air leak in the brake line which as the day went on progessively got worse. Was at CSS first time out on the bike so hardly use the brakes until the last couple of sessions. Second last session, sitting in the line up and can pull the brake lever in all the way in a little easy I thought. But as I was not moving hard to tell how much braking pressure I am getting. I soon found out that they weren't doing the job I expected, turn 4, I think you would have been able to see the white of my eyes from the moon had a real crack coming out of turn 3 and went to brake just after the thump, pulled all the way in and not what I was expecting. Thankfully I got to it before they got to me.

I always find it interesting that there are some people who can be relied upon to pour scorn on these 'cheap Chinese crap' parts, despite the fact that some of us have been using them for years now with no adverse effects. Remember when anything made in Japan was 'cheap crap'? How many of us here ride Japanese motorcycles? ... Oh, wait ... wat
As usual you're 100% correct Daisy :D
You have to be because you're agreeing with me!
The only thing that was crap and still is crap........is American made, that's why it find it so amusing
that pazzo advertise that they are made on American Machinery  and in Canada too apparently ;)
The Scourners most likely have Reebok's and Bolle stuff........common knoweldge it's made in sweatshops....by kid's

Jono, never said all tyres come form Thailand only Pilots, BT016 and a hanful of reputable others, only the popular ones many here chose to ride on was the point. The reason levers fail is not where they are made but what they are made from, my point about the ore that China sometimes source and why they have the reputation that they do. I think largely due to the amount of cheap toys you see at the markets we then assume the rest is rubbish which is why I say don't tar all with the same brush.

Yes the Chinese are very good at copying, in fact they are the best and largely do it very well, in a population of 2 Billion and the biggest car manufacturers in the world there will be some crap that gets out.

I don't like to say but I have to agree with Seiko, American made has been a history of crap, anyone heard of an old reliable Harley. So place of manufacture is no guarantee.

All I am saying is they maybe a cheap knock off, but not necessarily inferior.

Not only do they make brilliant sewing machines they also make great chainsaws and small arms which you would agree is a good thing ;)

Oh they also make forestry equipment and fuk me.. motorbikes too
They are a subsidiary of BMW apparently.

But I also own many Kawasaki's who also make aeroplanes, robots, trains, nuclear power plants, earthmoving machinery, bridges, ships, submarines, roads etc and it is a medical disease too, so whats your point yuppy?

In one sentence you had your tar brush out  love your humour :kuda:

Only one good thing ever to come out of China was tea. Anyone for a cup :kuda:

Sorry guys and gals, none of you have convinced me that cheap chinese levers are of any quality what so ever so I will refrain from purchasing any for the time being.
Although the arguements were emotionally strong there were no facts or proof offered that they are worth it, but thanks for the entertainment for a slow day. :kuda: :kuda:

Oh, so you wanted to be convinced? Sorry, that's not my job. The only person I had to convince was me - and I'm happy with my levers and rotors. They fit well, work like they're supposed to, look better than standard and cost bugger all. If you prefer to pay 10 times the price for some imaginary 'quality' I won't stop you. ;)

I am glad your happy with them Daisy and each to their own 8)

And no i dont intend to buy after-market bling levers for any of my bikes and never have, some of my bikes have them from previous owners though.
I have bought cheap after-market original look alike's in a pinch but were changed out asap.

Personally I cannot see the point of non performance bling and that is my real agenda for this debate and the cheap crap is only another thing I have to worry about failing at the most critical of times, I prefer to waste money on suspension as stated a few pages ago as to me it not about looks as much as it is about performance ;)

May I suggest since my posts in this thread have been all in jest and a bit of baiting was done by a few, relax crack a beer and see it for what it is worth.

Cheers. :kuda:

not that it matters but I dont see my Chazzo's as bling but more about feel. They are adjustable yeah sure but then again so is the OEM brake lever on most bikes these days.

I prefer the feel of the AM levers as I 2 finger brake on both road and track. Last time I road with a full length lever was on Frank's 9r (formally Madkaw's weapon of distruction ;) ) . Whilst the old 9 was awesome to ride every time I tried to trail brake into siberia at PI I damn near crushed my fingers
