Noting that the XJR1300 they are dragracing in Rapid Magazine, with an experienced rider, was running around 12.2sec from memory...............

Roughly 1 sec slower than the average bone stock ZRX.

But then most of the tractors run in the mid 13sec.

Errol, I like the look of the XR1200s - not going to buy one, just like the look.
How do they go on the road - dynos are one thing but real road is another. I'm assuming that you ride with the XR owner.

Hey TC,
Mate I only really run into him at club social functions, rallys & he often turns up @ the drags as a spectator, he does live 2 hrs up the road from me. These days he generally rides with Harley boys, in saying that we have have a LOT of straight boring roads around here, so the cruiser crowd is in their element.

But I agree with the looks side of things, for a tractor..........

Bloody things come with Dunlop Qualifiers as OEM tyres, they obviously expect you to push em' along a little.

I was told by T-Rex himself that they were the better option, and waht goes on T-Rex prepared machines these days.

Both models have length adjustment ;)

Prices will vary widely as, dont get trapped - as others have - thinking that apples are being compared with apples ;)

Oh and Wattie, other end is the "not off the shelf" stuff ;) :kuda:
Hey Phil,

just curious, what springs are on your Ohlins, i am looking for something softer for the back of a mates XJR1300 2010 and was wondering what numbers might be on yours or if you know their rate? For that matter, given the choice would you go harder or softer? How much is your weight?

About 95 (dry claimed)

I'll check tonight and see what my springs are (apart from yellow ;) ). If anything I'd go a little harder - and run less preload. I prefer the bike to be firm and not wallow.

Thanks Phil,

you have the harder of their two options by the looks of it, have to check what exactly is on the Yammy.

I wonder about the forks though, wonder has anyone any real experience with springs and Racetechs Gold valves in a 2008 rexxy, apparently the cartridge can be modified to take the valves, I dont see why they have not persevered with changing the original piston shims, oil flow i guess....either that or Racetech needs the $$$$$, either way $300) plus for racetech and Ohlins is way out of reach for me.

Thanks for the update in any case, the more this stuff is talked about the more we all learn.

Yep got em and they kick arse! Bike is totally different. However I also changed both tyres when I changed shocks. It feels like when you hit a bump it is felt slightly at the front end but not at all at the rear...
Got my clear tail light also. Not sure if I like it. Looks great while on, but crap while off. Got champs sliders coming as well as new swingarm bobbins too.

Stock eccentrics and about 8mm ride height increase. My forks also ride a little higher so I have a ground clearance increase to avoid scrapage ;)

Rod has about 10mm and eccentrics flipped  His bike steers quite quickly

Have to work out what to do with my front end. I'd like to stick to OHLINS but I don't want to cough up for entire front end. Might be able to find earlier cartridges and mod them with OHLINS bits?????
