I always nod or bring two fingers in the air, but don't get as much response as in Europe. It's a sad fact that woulkd be good to see change!!!

I also wave or nod at scooters.

One think I do do is ignore stupid bikers who don't wear the minimum gear. Because of these Tw#@s we pay higher premiums as they need more time and medical treatment when they hit the ground. What they get from me is a dark look

I nod at every bike I see, only about half or so return it. How hard is it???

The past two weeks have been a real eye opener for me. I usually tend to nod to all bike riders, regardless of their bike's capacity.

Since I have been on my loaner bike, the all-powerful CB two fiddy (lol), I have really noticed a difference in the number of nods/return nods - they have dropped dramatically! Must say it is disappointing that some riders don't acknowlegde you because you are on a 250.

Get my baby back tomorrow (hooray!), so it will be interesting to see if I start getting more nods again.

Hmmm, maybe it's just cause I am not an a Kwaka ;)

One thing to keep in mind is that, if you and the other bike are going in opposite directions, by the time each of you decides the other is close enough to register a nod on your part, and then by the time you actually do it, you pass into and out of each other's peripheral vision, leaving you both going "Fuggen snob cahn, didn't nod, the bastid... grumblemumblefakencahn..."

On another note, keep your nodding up, it's good karma... there's a guy I sometimes run into, on a Z550 with hard panniers. Middle-aged, beard, white open-face helmet, old-skool gear, and, seemingly, fused cervical vertebrae. Pull up next to him at a set of lights or the front row of a roundabout queue, nod, say hello, whatever, no response, just a full throttle takeoff which sees him changing up into third at 60kph...

The other morning, someone's getting busted for ducking into the breakdown lane (eastbound approach to the Russel roundabout on Parkes Way for the Canberrites), and it's him.

It catches up with you...

I nearly always nod and sometimes wave, its not often I have time for a chat.
It's great sometimes on Footscray Rd, on a good day you can get 3 or 4 riders in the front, all nod politly, lights go green and it's full throtle to the next light,s. :D

When I was on the ZZR250 I got a 50/50 chance of a return nod . The day I started riding the ZX6R it jumped instantly. Now I find people are nodding me first most of the time.
