I went from a 250 to a ZX7. That was scary enough.....
Then to the 2005 ZX10, now that's another story....twist slowly, twist gently, love it a little but don't scare it or else it will throw you into a hard object and if so, I'm sure it will leave a mark.....

You will still be saying this same sentence in 12 months time..... They take a lot of getting used to...... I've been riding road bikes for almost 30 years and I went from a ZZR1100 which I threw around like a 600, to a ZX10R, they are a different beast...........
Cath wrote:In general, I think it's better for your riding skills to spend time on something less than a thou (i.e. a 600/750), between the 250 and the 1000, but that's a pretty broad generalisation and doesn't apply to everyone. Yeah, a lot of fuckwits jump from 250s to 1000s and either crash, get scared or provide overtaking opportunities for the little 6s

but that's not the only option - there's plenty of people who can handle the jump up. After all - it comes down to what you do with your wrist and how you ride in relation to your ability / limits.
+1...............well said Cath

Congrats on the new scoot. I know you are sick of hearing it by now but be careful. I can't remember where I read this but it sums up the 10 perfectly.
"Too much throttle, almost anywhere, and it'll stick you in the ground like a golf tee.!"
I got complacent the other day and the repair quote is in the $4.5k area. Anyhow enough doom and gloom, they are great bikes that are a thrill a minute. Get out there and enjoy it.

Yes and it will be a short one... you love the power but you will never get to really use it??, sick of a 600 in 2 weeks... confident aren't we... a 600 with give u brown stains no matter how long u have owned it... learn to ride first....
Come out to the track where a bike belongs you'll wish u had a 600.
