I had a small similar discussion going last week re. bike choice, and Nelso said exactly the same thing about test riding bikes, and it makes total sense to me, we're the ones who have to live and love the thing 8)

I'd suggest that the very knowledgeable opinions of what an experienced track rider thinks about the difference between 2 different models of superbikes performance is not really relevant.

10's are described by people like Glen and Robracer as still sometimes "too much bike", after years of road and track riding racing and instruction, that tells me people in our situation are going to think any ZX10R in any form from any year is gonna be insanely fast, especially on the road

So, if you've decided on a ZX10R, then go
on k's, condition(objective)
looks, sound and feel, (subjective)
and less attention to year and extras in my opinion!

Then once you decide on a bike, get the best price you can and see if it fits your budget. :kuda:

An inexperienced rider on a crim is like a virgin fucking a porn star. Sure it will be fun for you but you're only going to embarrass yourself in the end.

Test ride the bikes and be honest with yourself if it is too much bike to handle (if you are too scared to get it over 8,000 RPM on the test ride I would give it a miss). Maybe a six would be more suited to hone your skills and progress to the 10 once you have gained some experience. Not meant to be a criticism of your ability (as all of us have been in your position before), just advising on the smarter option.

Just a little tip re test ride:

Watch out for the head shake as the tacho swings pask 7000!! (as the front lifts off ) ... no seriously on the 06

Either or either is a lot of bike alright and if you don't respect them I shit you not THEY WILL KILL YOU ....... Not the most forgiving bikes and yet one of the most powerfull ... deadly combo

Just saying is all (I cut my teeth on an RZ500 so a 10 was a fairly natural progression ;)

.. now happy test riding :kuda:

Or maybe fuck a virgin Porn star!!!

As for the bike. My head says to you (and you know I've seen you ride) that a 6 is probably the smarter option. But, my heart says go buy something which will scare the shit out of you!!!

Well, I have decided on the 2006.
I took it for a spin and he's told me he'll get the 12,000km service, 12 months rego and the RWC done at a Kawasaki dealership for the advertised price.
I only had it up to about 9k rpm in 1st and realised it was worth quite a bit more than $1 8)
I was concerned about the stone chip on the tank but it is insignificant and I'll see if I can get it detailed in the service.
I think I am in love!
My insurance co should pay out my existing finance by Tuesday next week and I have already sent off the documents for finance on this baby.
I am more excited than a child on Xmas morning before present opening time, who has been obsessed with a toy all year!

Haha, they have a tendency to create this response don't they! So it didn't scare you away. 8) Congrats, I hope we get to see it at the GP. :kuda:

My mission, that I have chosen to accept, is to piss my finance co off so regularly that I can be on the road before GP so my virgin ride will be to the GP.
Plus, since my off I haven't been able to catch up with anyone!
Hope to see you all there, otherwise I'll be watching it on the idiot box...
