Cheers Shinny, at that price I could get another pair of waterproof boots as well, I'll find some to try on and see how they fit.

the photo's don't do them justice, they look really ummm.... wanky in the white & silver, I'd be surprised if they could find 50 people who'd wear them in those colours (i suppose there must be 50 ducati owners out there somewhere....

)
Cheers

While I love my Sidi's on the bik - they fit perfectly while in the riding position - they suck enormously for standing or walking around in. For example, last track day after standing around between session with the boots on, my ankles were really sore. The Sidi shape just doesn't seem to fit my ankles at all - so if you have pretty, shapely, girly ankles

I suggest you try a range of boots on.
You can actually see where my Sidi's have folded / bent in over the years and cut into my ankles. On the other hand - Dave (with his big beefy man-ankles) doesn't have this problem. I'm still happy with the Sidi's and put up with this because they fit so perfectly while on the bike - this is more of a PSA to just be aware that this might happen if you have sexy ankles

FWIW I have 2 pairs of boots. Sidi Champions (mid height touring boots) for normal riding and Scorpion race boots, which are shits of things to walk in, otherwise.

Here is the site with some good info about the old Alpine Star 'Hi-Point' boots....
Vintage Alpine Star Hi-Point boots
In the picture of the 4 boots with the steel shin plates - Jim Goose had the 2nd pair from the left, and I have the 3rd pair from the next.
You can still buy brand-new Hi-Point boots (the pair on the extreme right) for vintage MX racing in the US. Great boots !!

Pretty sure the "rainbow" boots are the Andrew Pitt Replica's
Anyway as far as WP sports boots go I am on my 3rd pair of A* GPS3WaterProof. One set I wore for years and then finally killed in the roo incident.
Then I wore the toes away in 2 years on the next set, not the b

ts fault - stooopid rider.
I am now on my current set that I've had for 4 months, at $399 odd they are great value and bext of all you KNOW they work

For touring boot I found the Oxtar Gor-tex to be excellent for comfort, easy to put on and waterproof as advertised $380 from memory and they have done over 90k kms outlasted 3 bikes.
I bought some Thomas Cook cheepies $200 when I was stimulated by krudd as they made the Jonny Rebs so I gave them a go, and they pretty much failed in every way. Leaked, hard to do up and get off (liner), falling apart everywhere and when I scraped a toe I found out they are not leather and really do wick in the water from there, I really do not want to wear them again.

I've got Sidi Vertigo's. Love em... not really comfortable for walking around a lot in thou.... but on the bike they are great. Plus Sidi are great with warranty claims if anything breaks.
But, if I was a rich man.. these would be mine!

Thanks again all, I'm going to try to get out to MCAS at Auburn on Sunday to try a few pairs on.
The current pair are looking pretty ordinary, good thing it doesn't rain in Sydney.
