I thought that the ctp wasnt voided when the rider wasn't licensed to avoid this very thing?

if they are good riders I will ride with them, simple, newbies stay the fark away

BTW the guys I ride with insurance if they have it will be null and void

CTP insurance companies share the risk of the uninsured, even when the at-fault vehicle is unregistered and therefore has no CTP.

Hi i have been on couple of rides and ride up and down the old road. I have an rgv250 which i bought from South Australia. From what i understood with LAMS you could get a larger capacity bike that's restricted not knowing that the rgv is not learner legal in NSW until I was told later on by someone. I display my P plate as that's the license I'm on and understand if if people are uncomfortable riding around me when riding in a group. On the last ride on the Old road I was asked if I could ride behind everyone, respected that and didnt mind at all sitting behind the other P and L platers. If I'm at the back every time i don't mind at all. My riding pic from 2nd august has been put and taken down twice. Could be the fact its not a kawasaki or its an Un-rider in the pic(it is registered). So thats my view of where I am at the moment. I have met some of you on rides or at the Pits on a Lazy weekend.

scroopgrate - according to http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/licensing/tes ... iders.html the RGV250 is LAMS approved so it shouldn't be a problem but you may wish to check your licence with RTA.

And about the pic: I replied to your pm yesterday, telling you I'd look into it. I 've tried to get your pic back into the post several times. I'm waiting on dave to help out (since he has access to the website where the pics hosted) but he's currently asleep on the other side of the bloody world right now. sorry if your free photography service isn't providing instant fucking customer service for you Plus, I'm pretty toasted righ tnow. if you looked at the linking address from any of the other pics you probabbly could've found your pic and downloaoded it yourself by now with the most minor of detective work, but whatever.
Besides - accroding to wayne, you' arent an un-rider anyway, so whats teh problem?

yeah mate, its a sticky situation.

My suggestion would be to stay clear of other riders so you dont get muddled up in any mess, also ride with extreme caution.

Then when you graduate, get a decent bike like a kwacka .....

Just be aware of the situation, but I can see you ride well within your limits, so you definitely want to keep it that way..

cath I am not having a Go at you at all... Ive checked the rta site and yes the rgv is not Learner Legal. I suppose im just excited to see the first picture of myself riding..Thats all... I'm pretty new to road riding and also on how forums work with uploading pictures etc. I understand this is an open forum for discussion and is not pointing the finger directly at anyone but i'm just been honest by displaying my P plate on my bike.

Well, after all is said and done, it looks to me that riding with an un-rider is not a huge deal, in terms of consequences to other riders. I still don't agree with it, simply because the more who do it, the more the cops will be pulling over bikes, checking licences, etc

Though as I said earlier, being able to claim on another rider's third party property insurance, instead of using our own comprehensive insurance did save us more than 1K... I gotta admit, if a fellow member didn't have third party property and took me out, I'd be pissed, but that's why I have comprehensive. If a fellow member took me out and did have insurance but it was cancelled because they were not riding correctly licenced, and therefore cost me an extra grand or so on top of crash injuries... well, I'd want to be paying them a visit with some muscly mates. So the gut reaction is still there for me, even though I realise the end result is the same to me. Maybe it's just anger against a threat / danger / variable that can't be controlled? Either way, it doesn't seem to make a huge difference to your riding buddies, as long as they don't cause an accident.

I am more worried about riding with people who have no respect for their bike.... Badly maintained bikes (bad lights, no indicators, rusty chains, busted fork seals, bad brakes etc). They will cause a problem...
