OK I better clarify a a bit....Asking for the 10% KSRC discount on a new bike was a bit tongue in cheek I don't think they would do it but you can only ask :D .....When you look at it if you were buying a 15k bike they would have to give $1,500 off so it's a big ask.....

Also regarding the $7,200 price tag maybe that wasn't on road :? ...I thought it was

Good one Disco, you've gone and fed the poor bugger a load of shit and set him up to fail. The difference between 7.2 and 7.5 is fuck all really and I think you will be hard pressed to find anyone else to match it much less beat it, but by all means ring around and check for your own piece of mind. The added advantage of buying it from Aitken's is their after sales service and the quality of the work their workshop does is top notch. They have gone well out of their way on a number of occasions to help myself personally, as well as plenty of others around here and have a very good reputation for looking after KSRC members. Good luck with the purchase Clay.

I may be reading a lot into this, but it sounds like you rocked in there and *expected* a full 10% discount on an already discounted bike because you happened to join an online forum a week ago, one that you've given nothing back to yet (merchandise purchases, helpful advice, attendance at events, etc). I think that's pretty arrogant myself. As I said it might just be the way it's written, so if I'm wrong please forgive me if I've misinterpreted your post.

Good luck with finding a bike.
I'm pretty sure it's bikes too, all products. Just from what DISCO posted in this thread earlier, and from Jamie Aitken's response in the store where he said yeh it's bikes and accessories but he couldn't do it on the package deal. I don't know, ask someone who does know.

"Aitken's has a lot of floor stock in black and blue.....Probably 15+ ....They are ticketed at $7,200 ride away.....Minus the 10% KSRC discount I'm guessing :kuda:"

After I read that post, I thought they were already $7200, and thought I could walk in there with $7200 and walk out with a 250r. I wasn't aware that the bike at $7990 is already discounted.

I don't know how much I could give back to the club in a week. I'm still only a learner rider myself, I wouldn't give advice to any riders, apart from maybe some tips for people going for their learners. I actually wanted to buy a shirt, but orders aren't being taken. Would've went for a ride with you on the weekend (if you were riding) but I've just sold my gs500f to a mate and I was crook as. The sole reason why I went down there to buy a 250r yesterday.

I don't know where any of this smacks of excessive pride or self importance, so I don't know where you get arrogant from. I reckon naive would be a better option.

Thanks, Dave. I'll be sure to post pics when I get it.
Fair enough, I guess I did misinterpret your post, so again I apologise. I don't expect you to give much back to the club in a week at all but I also don't expect anybody, particularly newbies, to get all righteous over a KSRC discount with anybody, least of all a long term quality sponsor like Aitkens.

A wise woman once said to me "don't attribute to malice that which you could easily attribute to naivety" and in this case I made the mistake of not heeding said wise woman's advice. Sorry!

That's cool. No offense taken. And I'm not at all dissatisfied with Aitkens at all. Their service was great, Jamie's a good bloke, the salesman Andrew is good at what he does. Just had hopes of a $7200 newie! I might be taking my new bike there for servicing, or Kelens at Penrith.

I bought a bike today anyway, 09 250R, GREEN! Getting it's first service done now just hit 1000km. Warranty till January 2011, rego till January 2010, a lady owner. Green looks 1000 times better than the black, blue or red. Apparently Kawasaki aren't releasing green with the 2010 model, or so I've been told, only blue and black. Weird.

I'm stoked with the bike, been given 20% discount on all purchases at the dealership so I'm considering getting the rear seat cowl, fender eliminator and a pipe. And maybe some gear too, which I'd like some advice on but I'll post in the relevant section.

Thanks fellas, I'll post pics when I've picked up the bike on Monday.

Price: $6750

Thanks FireyRob and DISCO.

I'll be coming on rides with you guys for sure, I can't wait to pick this bike up on Monday!

No pics yet, can't believe I didn't take some shots with my phone while I was there.

I'm a little worried about the 1.5hr ride home when I pick it up, it'll be peak hour traffic too!

I really wanted green, so even if I got him down to $7200, I wouldn't have been happy. I know it's silly but I just had a colour in my head and really wanted it. I could have the bike for nearly 2 years so I wanted to get exactly what I wanted.

So sitting on 120kph, it's revving at 9 grand.

And when going 140kph, it's at 10 grand.

Does this sound about right? Redline starts at 13 goes to 15.

No. Just had a long ride home and I was on the Hume Hwy and M5 just going with the traffic really. And for the most part we were sitting on 115-120km. Got it up to 140km briefly while overtaking and some car was coming up fast behind me so I gave it a bit to get by the car I was overtaking and back in to the left lane so speed demon could go by with out riding up my ass.
