Bang!!!
Now have to figure out whether to get the stock RGV jobbies again or some Vertex single ring jobbies (slightly more dollars).
Any 2 smoke experts with opinions?

Love your work Tony. No wonder it stopped running........ Did it do much damage to the bore/head?

Nah, put another set of original pistons in it again, then blow it up again so I can say "I told you so" again

Work out why it went bang before you do anything . Wont matter what pistons go back in if the issue that caused that is still there .
I am no expert at all , but looks like you were running lean on that cylinder . Hard to tell from the photo , perhaps show the piston to a 2 stroke tuner .
With that amount of crap gone through things a complete strip down of the engine is wise .
A fuel issue , not enough, will cause it to run lean = burning piston /too much air for the fuel meaning an air leak , ie a crank seal sucking air or a cracked case or gasket = same result
Blocked jet ? How is the other piston / plug .
2 stokes can be fickle and they require some checking to make sure the air/fuel ratio is kept right . But remember one thing , Dave #3 watches videos of rampant Circus Ponies every time Cath goes down the street shopping so dont listen to anything he says .

Yeah thanks Billy, I'll strip it all down and see if the dyno guy around here will touch it, I'm half a chance seeing it will be freshly rebuilt. And I know what you mean about Dave, need we say more?
