What a bunch of retards. Of course it was going to have good figures on its first night. The 1 million people who love TG UK watched it in the hope it would live up to the hype. Let's see what the figures are like next week and the week after that, etc. Then, compare those figures to what TG UK scores when it returns to our screens.

FWIW, I don't give a rat's a**e what the first episodes of TG UK were like. I'm not going to sit through more of the Aussie sh*t, waiting in vain for it to get better.

Seen it already... ;) 8)
Yeah, I've seen it too... ummm, when I was on holidays in the UK, of course. :D

Currently watching the latest season of Fifth Gear. It's not as good as Top Gear, but I don't mind some of their stories.

Here's the email I sent to SBS and their reply:
To whom it may concern,

Thank you for freeing-up some of my Monday night television viewing time. The Top Gear Australia show was appalling and I won't be tuning in again.

As one of the 1 million viewers who religiously tuned-in to watch Top Gear UK every week, I will continue to scan the TV guide, looking for when you (hopefully) return it to the screen. 'Til then, my Monday nights will now be spent watching anything but SBS.
Yours sincerely,
Thank you for your comments.
FYI, a new UK 6-part series of UK Top Gear (series 11) will follow directly after the Australian series on Monday 24 November at 7.30pm.
Regards

Hey, if you don't give 'em feedback, they'll never know.

On a similar note, we're always calling or emailing companies about products we buy when we're not happy with them. Most people just throw stuff away and don't buy it again, but if you take action, companies are always pleased to help. Don't just take stuff back to the shop; you'll only get a refund. Instead, contact the manufacturer (or distributor). We always get our money back at the store AND get either a Gift Card (to cover the cost of repurchasing the product) or a box of goodies from the company in question.

The best one was Masterfoods; we had a jar of spaghetti sauce that, when we opened it, the lid didn't "pop" like it's supposed to, to show you it's sealed properly. Not only did we get our money back from Coles, but Masterfoods also sent us a sh*tload of stuff, from sauces to spices! :D

Have to agree with cookeetree - if feedback is not provided to companies then they will never improve their products, only their marketing (New and Improved ABC - which means we have been using old and not their best efforts????).

Don't agree with the thought that TGA was a waste of time - I'm prepared to wait and hoping for improvement.

Will certainly enjoy TGUK though.

my $0.02c less GST, adjusted for inflation and invested in FreddyMac - damn.

Australian slang 101;

---- "ya" as in "you" or perhaps more appropriately "yooze" also used in common Aussie phrases as "what ya's doing" and "where's ya beer Dave "[ref' Hoff' :lol: ]

{As opposed to the seppo originated Y'all}

"pissed" is often also used to express what one has done to ones jocks / pants when when a Kawasaki passes by unexpectedly :shock: / The state of most inhabitants of Phillip Island this weekend :partyman: , or can be abbreviated as is the traditional Aussie way From "pissed off" to just "pissed" in certain circumstances.

FYI I'm 7th generation Aussie mate - you must have read my post in the wrong accent/s :lol: :lol:
