*Thought I better explain the Pies/Collingwood reference for the yank . Over here we have Australian rules football which is very closely followed by 4 states and 2 territories and sort of followed by the other 2 states a bit. There is a team called Collingwood (much like Manchester United in the UK) that you either love (see Gosling1, Possum (didn't know about Benno, you little closet boy you) or hate, see anyone else OTHER than the Collingwood people, why do we hate them so much, well that's part of the national heritage/psyche, basically if you don't love em, then simply you must hate them, other teams can be "tolerated" perhaps even liked, but Collingwood is black and white, no grey area, love em or hate em!!!!

That's sort of like Red Sox vs. Yankees here in the States....

thats a great synopsis on gun ownership - I had no idea that it was regulated to that extent. All we get over here is that you can walk into a shop in Virginia? and buy a gun over the counter for like $11.99 ?? and then take out a lecture room full of students..... - I guess we still have the record over here though.........

LPG = Liquid Petroleum Gas. The same stuff as you run a barbecue with......its only about 70c/ litre at the moment, way cheaper than guzzoleeen......its a pretty easy conversion for most cars. The government over here actually will reimburse you $2000 for a $2,500 (avg) conversion !! so it costs SFA (Sweet Fuck All ) to do the conversion.

.....I would say the average price of home here in FL is about $200,000. As for annual income, I don't know if I even want to venture a guess, but pretty much anyone who owns a home probably makes about $40,000 annually....

jesus christ !! 200k ?? is that all - over here mate, the average price of a McMansion in Sydney is over half a fucking million dollars !! Yes , 1/2 a mill.......In ACT (Canberra) , average homes cost over $400k, not much different in Melbourne or Brisbane, Perth used to be cheap, but not any more.......in Adelaide you get a house given to you for free if you stay 10 days or more without dying of boredom.....

That's because Australia is somewhere you'd actually want to live... as opposed to the US.

Mmmmmmm, don't know bout that; certainly from a riders perspective, if you've ridden in the states . . . . . . Oz doesn't even come close imho ! (So don't come here thinking the roads are 'the biz' because compared to the states . . . nah, nowhere near - well that's my opinion anyway).

The roads, the scenery and diversity, over there? huh . . . . Seriously outta this world! Man, if I could; I'd quit work tomorrow - head to the states, hire a bike and just ride ! Now that would be living !

Not to mention the campgrounds you have - no comparison, seriously! The campgrounds in the states are just brilliant. Nicely laid out, and just soooooooooo inviting - again, our campgrounds don't come close (far from it).

And from my experience . . . . I didn't have a problem with language - quite the opposite. Everytime we'd stop for 'gas' we would spend an hour or so at the gas station, because another bike rider would come up and talk to you, and talk to you, and talk to you. And that worked from both sides - it was great to talk with them and they loved talking to us! And more often than not, they were sooooooooo impressed and engrossed in hearing about the trip that we were currently undertaking at the time, that they just didn't want to stop talking to us.

We spent 1x night with a couple and their kids, who were camping (and we only stopped there because the rear tyre in my bike blew) and we stayed up ALL night with them sitting by the fire drinking their flavoured vodka and eating dinner which they shared with us . . . . just comparing US and THEM. What can I say - loved it! And I won't bore you with soooooooooo many other positive experiences that we had, as the list can go on.

Anyway, for me - I'd be there in a heartbeat!

Not to mention I was supposed to be returning on 06/06/08 and my ex boyfriend is flying out to do it all again. (I'm devo! And am going to get some tissues - shattered. )
