Andre, I'm glad to hear that your on the mend and have your dealings with insurance outta the way. Thanks so much for being so understanding and friendly to me throughout all of this. I hope the rest of your recovery is speedy and that you are back on the bike before too long. Up until the accident that was one of the most enjoyable rides I've had on the bike, and hope to ride with you again someday soon, maybe at the eastern creek where there are no cliffs my bike can use as a launching ramp if something goes wrong! Also, thank you Richo for all your help at the scene.

For all you kawasaki lovers, you shall be happy to see one less honda on the road here. :(

Cheers

Paul
G'day Paul, and welcome to KSRC. I've got to say, I'm amazed at how well both yourself and Joystick have dealt with this crash. It must take some balls to sign up here, fess up that it was your fault, say sorry, etc. I hate to say it but I'm not sure that I'd have the same intestinal fortitude if I were in your shoes. I hope you do get back on a a bike soon, and that you don't loose your ticket over this prang. I'm sure it goes without saying that you've learned a shitload through this experience, and I've no doubt you'll be a better rider for it in the future. Rock on with a nice green machine and stay shiny side up.

I doubt there will be any tickets lost .... the cop who took my statement was wracking her brain trying to figure out how fast they were going .. as I was the only one that gave a first account statement (ummm yes officer, I was doing 70 and they were slightly faster when they overtook me) .... Honestly, she said she can see it only as a pure accident ... .just bad luck. .. so, if this isnt the case and you guys have been hit with a fine etc, then sorry.

Apparently the cops actually timed from when Andre and Paul overtook me to when I caught up with them ....

To my calculations, they were doing . . . .umm 80 km/h :D

Unfortunately you don't need to speed to loose your ticket. Generally after a prang the person deemed to be at fault is charged with neg driving, an offence carrying 3 demerit points. Hopefully in this case Paul either has enough points to ride it out or is lucky enough not to cop it.

Hey Paul, How's the arm healing? Are you still in the sling or starting to use it now? It's amazing how quick a broken bone can heal with a metal plate holding it together. ;) You must have some huge zipper scars forming. 8) Geez your bike looked a sorry state on the road there. What are you going to do with it? What did the insurance company offer?

Make sure that you get down to the RTA on the day that your P's expire and get a full licence. It will not automatically just happen, you must go, pay and get another happy snap to make it proper. By the sounds it, it'll take some time for anything to arrise from the incident, so that should work in your favour.

I've started physio on my shoulder and it's going slowly atm but I'm feeling better each day. Now that the CTP claim has come through I'm guessing I'll be there twice a week for the next couple of months. I'm still in a cast on the right wrist and that is a case of wait and see. I'm due to have it removed on 26th May and have either an X-ray or bone scan to see if there is any sign of bone repair. Then I could be back in a cast for another 2/4/6 weeks or not at all.

The worst of it is that I'm back at work and I can't spend all day high on pain killers reading Motorbike Forums. Or is that a good thing? I'm not sure.

Take care dude, thanks for posting and get out on the track.
