I'm having third thoughts!
I'm now thinking about just spending money on the 9 and making it what I want! I really do love that bike for some bizzarre reason, so I might just do a few things to update it. Brakes, Suspension, bars, hard luggage and new wave rotors!
I stuck a new tyre on it this morning and riding it into town and back I fell back in love with it!

What's the damage report on them mate??? Ham and cheese it????
It was just that today while waiting to have the tyre fitted, I hung a lap of Lizbeth st. And to be perfectly candid, I didn't like the DL at all, and the 14 in the flesh just doesn't rock my world enough to lay 18k for one! Not even 14 on a used one attracts me. I am more attracted to 18 year old girls....oops sorry, I wandered off again! I am more attracted to fixing up a few things on the 9, fitting some hard luggage and heli bars and riding it till th emotor expires and then...fit another motor!!
I looked at the Tiger, the sprint ST, blackturds, bussie bikes, 14's, bandits, and the DL1000 and the tedium900. None of them spark any interest.

which all goes to prove my call years ago that the 9 is the best do-it-all-bike ever wasnt just piss and wind.
i got the brakes cheap, not sure what normal price would be - and as if you'd pay that

with your "contacts"

I'm back looking again! I went and had another sit on a ZX14 yeserday arvo. It is a little more upright than the 9, but bugger all. The real difference is the leg room, with the 14 having a lot less knee bend than the 9. Also means it would deck out easier too.
But if Hoffy is gunna sell his 12 maybe i'll make him an offer. His must be worth 8 or 9 at least!!!

Problem is Mick, if I don't change my bike, I'll have to upgrade the wife, or the car, or the wife's car! So the bike is cheaper!

Nah Mick...I'm a bike slut! I think I need a change. It's probably one i'll regret if I sell the 9, but I need something new to get excited over. If I have enough cash at the time, I'll only trade the failing marshmallow and still keep the 9. I do lurve the thing so that's why I am having trouble deciding. The thing is while motors are easy to replace, it's the reliability factor of other things like starters, regulators, Stators TP sensors, bushes and bearings which is the reason I am looking again.
I even had another look at the ZRX today. But the no wind protection thing will bug me halfway through winter.
I also went and had a look at the Yamaha FZS1000 today. It's a tasty bit of kit. Light, nice chassis, good clearance, good brakes, nice motor and a comfy ride postion with what appears to be adequate wind protection. Anyone know someone with one? Any idea of fuel range?
