Hello All,

I realise this topic is a little old, but thought I'd add my two cents...

I bought a Scala Q2 multiset the other day, got a bargain price of $450 for a pair... (best I'd seen retail was at the Ryda Communications store in Sydney for close to $600 so I was very happy.)

I had to use the mount supplied which uses double sided tape to hold the whole unit into my Shoei, and then ran the leads around for the speakers and away I went.

So far I have only "sync"ed the one headset to my iphone to use for phone calls. I made a few calls (using the voice commands, ended up ringing a few random people I hadn't spoken to in a while but once I told them what I was doing they were on for a good chat.) Frankly, I was stoked with the way the system worked. I could easily hear the person on the other end, and they couldn't hear anything but my voice and a little wind noise, which is a good effort because my ZX10 has a pair of angry sounding Two Brothers Pipes on the rear end...

To actually make the call all you have to do is press the main button, wait for a beep, say the name of the person you want to call and it dials that person for you.

As yet, I haven't done the bike to bike intercom setup, but as soon as I do I'd be happy to let anyone who is interested know how it goes.

Next step is getting a compatible GPS and working out where to mount it and hook everything in through the GPS... again, if anyones interested, I'll pass on details.

Sorry if this post sonds like I'm flogging the Scala model, but I took a plunge because I couldn't find any good reviews for it. If you've read this far, and are even remotely interested in my opinion, I rate the system pretty highly...

Phillipfry,

Sure is mate! Only drama there is that the speakers supplied aren't anywhere near as good as a quality pair of "in ear" ones...

The best place to mount a blue tooth is up your arse. That way you will not hurt it in a crash and you will always remember where it's at. Who in the fuck needs a blue tooth while riding? You must be a cager at heart. Have a Jim Beam and a brew and get your head together. Having distractions like that is like getting a blowie while riding. Not a good idea, a good way to crash.

just to add to the revival...

had to buy a new pair of headphones for my iphone (im just an idiot and lost the others)... and i ended up with a pair of red (wey hey) motorola ones... has the little mouth piece thingy on them

anyways i was listing to some music on a late night ride home from work and i get a call so i press the little button on the mouth piece and answer the call...

i had to take off from the lights and my mate ben asked me where i was and i said riding home... apparently there was no wind noise and he could hear me perfectly... i figured it would be the opposite given the speaker site below the helmet infront of your neck, which i assumed would be where wind noise would be really bad...

Pinchy,

Don't know if it is the headphones or the helmet...

But with agv helmet..
I've hand convos with the standard stereo nokia headset before where the microphone is just below the helmet at neck height.. i think the mobile phone headsets have gotten heaps better over the years for noise cancelling microphones... :D

I can handle music while riding....no problemo......but phone calls ?? No way, riding needs all the concentration you can muster. The only time I can see phone calls off a bike being worthwhile, is when you take the Hog for a Sunday morning ride..........and need to call for the ute in the arvo !!! :kuda:

jaycar sell bluetooth transmitters that you can plug into the earphone socket of a non bluetooth gps. my gps receives bluetooth but doesn't transmit.
