It doesnt matter which year, the site shows Fuel capacity - reserve : 18L (4.8 gallon US)

And 4.80 US Gallons equals 18.17 Liters
( 1 US Gallon = 3.7854 Liters )

So it still doesn't tell me how much is the reserve tank.

Yes you do Allan, also mate it has 1 petrol tank n two pices of plastic tube ontop of the fuel tap. Long tube is On, turn tap to allow short tube to let fuel through is reserve. Also never let it run out cpmpletely tanks rust from inside up here from the humidity n it will not please your donk at all.

I had a 90 model - you know the blue and silver job...was a very reliable bike and I even got money for it when I sold it.

Tyres I went through two sets in the four years I had it and each time I only got charged a tiny little 109 for the front and 150 for the rear, thats with Bridgestone Battleaxes.

Um...after I got killed by a car, to get front forks straightened was 30 for the pair, 50 to get the front disc flattened, I reprayed the new fairings my self for 570 including the fairings that I found in the trading post. 90 for wind deflector, 55 for footpegs and bracket...35 for new glass in mirror (go to O'Briens Glass at Burleigh - they have a template there now!!) ummm fuel wise - was getting around 320km to take before having to hit reserve and got another 30 or so km after that.


CAnt think of what else to say...but if you kill your bike or someone else does...its not the end of the world

Look at the exhaust pipes.

The fuel leak is *apparently* a known fault in ZZR250's. Mine did it not that long ago.
Make sure the mechs check that neither of the internal fuel filters have become unstuck, and to thoroughly check the fuel vacuum feed to the carbies. It causes exactly what you described, and just the vacuum part costs about $350.

Yes, they seem to be a little noisier than others, but I adore mine and would rather do mine up than upgrade to something bigger.

I have managed to get 310km's out of a tank of BP premium before needing to switch to reserve (sedate riding in outer sydney suburbs).

BTW, they dont seem to cough and splutter when they get too low, just kind of sigh and stop.... not real cool as you're entering a roundabout...

i had a 1991 ZZR250 yep in black and a ZZR600in black too (recently sold).

but had soo much fun on the 250 .. although the seating isnt like say the cbr250 it does give u a more upright riding position - instead of the racer/sport leaning over/onto the tank style.

i would have to say its a really great bike to learn on - never regreted getting it and the fact that Jessica Alba in Dark Angel rode one as well
i dont remember having any engine or mechanical problems with it - it was a trusty tropper! even after my bro dropped it - it still went strong till the day i killed him/her on putty.

From what I have heard they cannot be. The zzr250 (from what I have heard) revs at 10k @ 100km/h. The gpx @7k. Something is different.

My ZZR 250 revs at 7.5k rpm @ 100km/h, on original sprocket size.

Is it possible to remove the front fender of the ZZR250 without removing the front wheel?
