Interesting , I got booked by a lime green unmarked XR8 recently . A TOG (or whatever they are called now) who was a right knob . Did an illegal U turn into oncoming traffic , wrong side of the road , while squealing the tyres . Think he had watched too much Dukes of Hazard .
Couldn't wait to get a ticket writen and zoom off again . Just one of those knobs that give all coppers a bad name .
A TOG working out of the Moorabbin area booked an ex digger on Anzac day after he was returning home from the march still wearing his medals . Small over the speed limit . Got a bollocking from his Serg and told to show a little sense . Fine was cancelled .
I always cop it sweet as I am always doing something wrong . Most of the coppers are reasonable blokes just doing their job .

So Rang them this morning and the lady on the other end says she will look at the pic, and lo and behold she starts to say that ONE of the letters on the plate is not readable, but suddenly stops and just says that they will cancel that fine. Now does that mean that if they cant read one digit on thr plate that they just send it out to everyone who could have that combination of numbers and hope for the best??
Yep !!! had a mate who used to work for the I.P.B and if they got a pic with unreadable plate say on a Falcon or Crapodore then they would send to all same type of vehicle with similar plate close enough to area, sometimes 6 or more fines issued. Most people just payed the fine, those that complained had it cancelled

It's a pet hate of mine but I know what you mean. I honestly don't see a problem with picking up the phone and saying "sorry mate, driving" or "hang on mate, just pulling over". I would feel robbed if I got a ticket for that, but if you picked up the phone & started a conversation then sorry but you probably deserved it
That said though I don't really have a problem with people using the mobile out on the open highway....
