I've had similar experiences - it is such a crack up when you get closer and they realise you are female!

I once was in traffic in summer and had a tinted visor on - the girl in the car in front of me was trying to make me notice her by putting on lipstick and pouting in her side mirror - I had great pleasure lifting up my visor. Needless to say, she suddenly looked away very quickly and pretended to be looking at something else!

I also wave at cage drivers who go out of their way to do somethin nice for you, or the right thing in general. Needless to say, I'm not wavin at them much...

i think there was a previous post on this and we came to the conclusion that most people will nod or wave but only the arrogant one wont.

I nod or lift the hand to all bikes that seem to be looking at me or not, generally I then gesture with the bird if they dont acknoweledge just in the off chance they look in mirror. dont take much to nod in a helmut does it????

Cruiser guys always seem to wave to me...unless they are on a hardly...trumpy riders the best in this regard...followed by H-o-n...them guys

Sports bike riders all seem to give me the nod to the side...

Trail bike riders always seem to preoccupied with waving flies away, a by-product of not washing, to acknowledge your existence...

Steady on felix... if my bike went fast enough i'd outrun the flies!!

We're not all like that, some of us ride traily's because they're cheap. 2.8L/100km keeps my wallet full. Not to mention cheap insurance and rego.

Yep, and the barkbusters protect my levers as well!

I actually think a traily would be ideal as a first bike for the girly...just stick some road rubber on instead of knobbies...nice and light, and bugger all to damage...

It cost me $180 to put a pair of dunlop road tyres on it, $12 to change the front sprocket and an hours labour. It sticks like glue and cruises happily at 90k's. Perfect for the learner, that's why i got it.

I said this to T and she was dead against it, cos it didn't look the part...lol...my words not hers.

Tho the cost of 250's in vic is disgraceful.

Not much different here in NSW. The cost of some 250's is a disgrace. I've seen some late model 600's for the same price as a 250 of similar age.
My traily wasn't cheap but to me it has been worth it. It's in great nick and doesn't have the power to hurt me after a minor mistake. You get over the look after a while. My philosophy was.. buy the best i could afford and the cheapest to fix. Here's hoping for good resale value!
