Bloody hell, Wattie. That really sucks - and the timing just makes it heaps worse. Have you decided what you're going to do?

well after a phone call to the office of fair trading, and then a phone call to MAW, where i explained my rights, the lovely chap told me to come down and get a refund, and he didnt want to see me again, and hung up on me.

so i went and got refund, with the bloke (part owner) still insisting i was in the wrong and that i never gave him an opportunity for him to give me a refund.

telling me how the customers int he store thought i was being un reasonable.

which i explained to him how they werent there when i had been there 3 times previously, without any action.

i went to another bike shop on Penrith, bought a new visor, and while i was there, happened to run inot the Rep that was "supposedly" going to look at the visor,
who then informs me he hasnt heard a thing about a problem, and had a chat with me, looked at my new visor with me to make sure it was ok, and was very nice.

so after a week or so of being fucked around and lied to continiously, problem is solved, just a pitty i had to involve the Office of fair trading, to get some service.

all is well, and i will not be returning to MAW EVER!
and i will highly recommend no one else does either.
even if they give KSRC members a discount.

I'm happy to hear you got it resolved in the end, Wattie - but doesn't it suck that you had to go to those lengths!

If anyone else is looking for helmets - if you're in Sydney and want a SHOEI, go straight to the Helmet Warehouse at Yagoona. I've bought three helmets from them, and Dave's also bought a couple and we've always received friendly, helpful service.

They also went above and beyond trying to help me last week, when I hurriedly had to replace a helmet in time for the Supers trip, but the one I had my heart set on was not possible. And their prices on SHOEI's is very sharp. What's not to love? Great prices, great service.

yep, i'm glad to hear you got it sorted wattie, but fark me what a joke that was what you had to resort to.

like dave and cath I have purchased MANY helmets from the helmet warehouse, last one after a bit of use (3 weeks) developed a small fault. i took it back, showed them and he rang the rep while i was there. the rep came and took the helmet and had it fixed. it was only a minor problem but they were more than happy to help out. AND they have competitive pricing to boot.

Hate stuff like that... when you have to get riled up just to get some action... Im glad you got it sorted... I certainly wont be buying anything at MAW

On a counterpoint.... the Yamaha shop up the road sold Cougar a set of boots, for some reason the sole started to seperate from the rest of the boot, unfortunately she had gotten a chip in the front of the boot... had destroyed the box it came in, lost the receipt and then proceeded to leave it for a month and a half before I finally talked her into going to see them...

They looked at the boots, took them, rang the rep on the spot...

They told her to leave it with them.... offered her replacements, or value toward another pair.......

Bloody awesome...
