society without manners! OMG what have we become!
when you nod, you nod, when you don't, you don't... pppfffttt...
people are too preoccupied with their own menial lives.
...in saying that though, i make an effort to acknowledge riders whever i can....
BUT..... i refuse acknowledge a FRIGGEN DICK WEARING A SINGLET AND THONGS ON A vespa, thinking that he's in the middle of the greek islands, when riding around the CBD.
ppppfffttt.... eat me

When your in a car you dont expect the person in the car next to you to give you a nod and a wave or a cheery hello.
Maybe he had a crappy day at work and just wanted to get home and go to bed. Poor man!
Or hes a prick, you should just have pushed him off his bike col.
If he got up and said after the day ive had thats all i need, i was right. If he calls you bad bad names, your right.

But that's the point, we are on bikes, and that's different to being in a car with the rest of the drones who have no idea. It doesn't matter what sort of day you've had, or what sort of bastard you are, the other person is on a bike just like you cos it's got two wheels and is the most fun thing you can use on the road, and the nod is an acknowledgement of that fact.
Bring back the nod, or we may as well just be driving cars...

My original point was that it surprised me that he could be so rude. Trust me, I commute around 50kms a day and encounter a lot of different "types" on the road, so obviously this guy stood out for a reason...

That depends where you are. I used to live 'out in the country' and it was considered the height of rudeness not to wave to other drivers. When I first moved there I got rsi in my index finger from lifting it off the steering wheel every time I saw another car.
