I had the same problem.

I had a 10, Missus despised it though, so i bought a 12. (and kept the 10)

Then i realised the 04 10 sucked for me, so i got rid of it

Then i rode the 06 10
DAMN JOO KAWASAKI!!!!!

Im buying another 10 soonish, should look horn next to the ZX12 :D

And please dont listen to the nay sayers, just because a 12 is a little large to slip into a tutu doesnt mean the bitch cant dance.

Ride em both, back to back, maybe even fling in a zx14 test while youre at it just to really screwq up the decision making process :D

I regretted selling my 12R, I have been looking at either a 10 or another 12 atm, tested a 10 and it is way too peaky like have to have a fair few revs to get the mumbo happening and it has plenty of it too  , as was already mentioned the 12R has buckets of useable power from 3k rpm, around 5-6k rpm it all really starts to happen, get to 8k and .1 seconds later you are at redline and @ $2.80 and seeing god believe me

The 12R will be my first choice once again as all my riding is done on the roads not a track, a few of us older members here in Qld all had 12R's at one stage and I can tell you no bike other than a 12R was ever in front of us or close to us when we were hitting' it "really" hard on a ride

I could go on and on about it but once you have ridden a 12 you are effectively ruined for other bikes.

12R = awesome useable power and rideability 8) .

10R = supersports/ track, not the easiest to ride at sensible speeds and around town IMO

Either way ride both, there lies your answer

Like alot of the others i do all my riding on the road and like the extra weight of the twelve, i thought it handled better than anything in the same class (bird,busa,zx14)

I also test rode a gixxer thou,R1 and ZX10 preferred them in that order, but still preferred the 12.

Been over 12mths and my only problem has been trying to keep my license, on my second GBP in two years.

I would suggest that you test ride a few and dont buy anything unless you've ridden it.

Like froggy the 12 should be around 2 grand cheaper than the 10 .....???

Thanks for the info peoples.

Get the gist of what you are all saying….

I am 6’4” and weigh 100kg. I have owned & ridden many bikes from motocross to road bikes (YZ 80, CR 250, KX 250, XL 600, Z1000 MK2, GPZ 900, ZX 1100).

My preference these days is for track riding (as I like to keep my license).

..and I really dont think a 12 is gonna keep with a 10 around the track with the same rider on board (APART from the paradox  ).
So the 10 it is then eh, Legs?

When I had mine in for service last week Richard at Narellan Kawa said he was doing 06 10's for $16k on road. He has a nice shiny black one sitting in the shop as well as a nice shiny black 12.

Mmmmm bike shopping....
