Good luck with the weight-loss mate.
I'm 6ft and I went from 127kg down to 97kg in 12 months - with exercise and eating well.
Eating well for me actually meant eating more of better things, but not in one sitting. I basically grazed all day - yogurt, fruit, salads, etc.
I'm still losing weight - I was 94kg before hospital and lost 5kg in hospital.
However I don't recommend doing anything requiring a hospital stay just to lose weight
Be warned though - I hit a couple of plateaus that made it hard to continue. I was stuck at 115 for about 3 months, and 104 for about the same. Just stick with it.

My weight loss plan involved getting hit by a car and lying around for a few months. Went from 104kgs to 86kgs.
If you stick to it you should be able to acheive want you want.

good on ya sterio! I had my own battle with the fat many years ago and found the solution to eating less and regular exercise too. Every now and then some lummux tries to tell me their problem is hormones or genes, to which my stock reply is "No one was carried out of treblinka or auschwitz with a weight problem."
Hope you get on top of it

Today is the first day of my new lifestyle....
I dont feel any thinner hehehe....
But seriously for a second...
I have commited myself to one month of absolutely no alcohol.... Im pretty sure that is illegal, but Im doing it anyway....
This is great news for Steph because I will be sober rider to all parties now... So if anyone needs a sober driver over the next few weeks, gimme a yell.....
As far as excercise goes, I have joined a gym, I have yet to have my first workout, because I started officially today, but I am teaching at VUT tonight, so wont get home until after 9pm....
As for food.... I looked at many options, Atkins, CSIRO, Weight Watchers, Lite'n'easy, D.I.Y...... In the end I decided that I was far enough gone that I needed a more complete solution.... so I have joined Jenny Craig.... In fact, today is probably the first time I have eaten breakfast in years haha... except as hangover food ofcourse... JC is a bit pricier than some of the others, but I meet a consultant once a week that tailors my solution and gives advice.... Most importantly I dont wanna look like an idiot when I show up so that will give me the incentive I need...

important to note that you want to lose weight and not build muscle. When going to gym leave the weights alone! use treadmill, cycles, stepper and all the aerobic machines that will get your blood pumping and body useing energy.
Having a toned/muscley body is so damn sexy but slim down first then build muscles, otherwise you will notice difference to body shape but be actually gaining pounds as muscle weighs more than fat!

It's also importoant to note that increased muscle mass also increases your metabolic rate. So, once you've started to stack on the muscle, even when you are sitting still you'll be burning more calories than you did before.
I don't want to sound like I'm contradicting what you've just written, but many years of weight training (before I got old and lazy) taught me some valuable lessons.
Stereo, grab the weights and give them a moderate push. Just don't go busting your arse like the blokes who are trying to look like Arnie. If you do enough cardio work, you'll keep your muscle size down anyway.
And another thing.... drink plenty of water. Ensuring you have your 2 to 3 litres of water a day will help push out any excess water you might be carrying under your skin. Be warned tho, unless you are used to drinking that much, you'll be pissing every 10 minutes!

your right diesil
potassium. aka salt reatins fluids and causes fluid retention which in turn adds weight.
hence why people with ehart conditions are on reduced salt diets so they dont retain any un neccesary fluids, and teh body is able to function at its optimal level
ok head out fo text books now..

I will still be doing a weights workout.... But I will be opting for medium reps medium weights, allowing me to bulk up the muscles a bit, but not overly... (for those interested, I will be doing a 3 day split, with 45 mins of cardio as part of it (25 mins cardio warmup, then weights, then 20 of cardio and then a relaxing warmdown)...
