So next tuesday if Dave gets the time off my bike will be on the dyno and we shall see if the police reading was rite or wrong :)
Don't forget all the other stuff that's been suggested:

-Take the bike to the drags, enter the timeslips as evidence. Get video.
-Go to a trackday at Eastern Creek. Get video from Turn 1 entry.
-Ask the dyno operator if he'd mind either appearing in court or, more likely writing a submission stating that never in all his years in the motorcycle industry he has never ever heard of a GPX250 being capable of speeds above 160kph.

Some sage cahn said something about eggs and baskets which applies here...

read all the shit that was posted and all was good until.....
The thing that gets me, is that there are still people living in the year 2006, who still believe guns are a good thing, and boast about it! Rolling Eyes
Strika, you hand your bike in and l'll gladly hand in my guns.

This is a very very interesting thread, I would be interested to see what ya can get out of a ZZR on a dyno with that amazing BHP  .

I'm more concerned that the cop actually stated that he clocked you at 183!!!!, mate I reckon if ya prove it can't do it, he's (lets say) farked, watch out for my spelling, inadmissable evidence isn't it.

Keeping an eye on this one.

Good luck buddy, ya deserve it after the way ya mucked in the other week

yes...INDEED!!

LOOPHOLE!!!!

ive seen on news/in paper or sum such shit, this bird was chased by a cop who was flashing her lights (didnt put the red/blue on)..she feared for her safety & refused to pull over....

have u mentioned this to ur lawyer?? (that u was scared i mean)

Mate, I have and as said b4, gonna b hard to pull 180 down a hill on a run strip 2 k's long

How the hell you managed to do that in an 80 zone, I'll never know and probably will no one else.

Bit naughty giving it that much though, could understand 100 110 but over that ya are pushing the argument a bit, but good luck to ya mate and I hope it all works out well in the end.

If ya do get found guilty of that speed, look into entering The Guiness Book O Records, John Noakes and Morris Mc Werter would be proud o that one (one for the Poms on here)

Take it easy

How many horsepower does a GPx250 have anyway? Years ago when I was a lad I owned an RG250. Off the top of my head it had somewhere in the vicinity of 50 horsepower and it was hard pushed to crack 180. If you assume that a GPx is operating at the same efficiency as my ZZR1100 (147 hp) but is just smaller, then it's simple maths, 33.41 hp. No ram air on the 250 (I think) so none of the top end rush of the big boy. Even if it is a bucketload more efficient than the 1100 (doubtful I would think) you need X number of horsepower to go Y km/h and it a non linear scale due to wind resistance. The faster you go the thicker the air seems to get, and it's starting to get pretty thick once you pop the old imperial ton. Basically, if you double the velocity you square the atmospheric drag. With a certain amount of horsepower you can only go faster than your theoritical maximum speed by reducing the drag. And most motorcycles (not all) have a worse coefficient of drag than a flat board of the same frontal area. All the protruding bits (elbows, mirrors etc.) gobble up a lot of horses. If you have a GPx than can crack 180 I'd be ringing Kawasaki Japan up and offering it back to them for a tidy profit.

errr ok lol

but we shall find out on tuesday morning what it can do...

just had a thought (yes it hurt. had to pop a few brufen)
someone may have already mentioned this, but see if you can find out what sprocket combination you would need to actually pull 180.
with standard gearing, i imagine it would hit the limiter b4 it actually reached this mark. then you've got the explination that standard it doesn't have enough power and physically can't get there with standard gearing. therefore with gearing that would allow it to do these speeds, it would need even more power to cut through the air.

Ill get the dyno done then pass the facts onto my solicitor then see what he says and recomends and ill go from there :)
