I'm with you!!!! Especially when I'm just cruising around with the revs real low.

on the track i remember what gear im in....
on the road its irrelevant, cos unless u kno the roads u dont kno wot gear u want to be in until ur there, abt to enter the corner..so then i just wing it and hope for the best..

Me too, in fact bike gizmos http://www.bike-gizmos.com has a few things I want, that, hazard lights and think they had one other thing I had in mind as a one of these days purchase.

Sometimes I remember, sometimes I forget, but often try to find 7th or 8th..Lucky I don't wear thongs, or that would hurt my toes.....

i am getting better at my guesses though.

I always know exactly what gear I am in ......... and I am really struggling with the concept that 90% of the riders here *don't* know what gear they are ........

For those guys who are always trying to hook up 7th gear, get a smaller rear sprocket, that'll fix you problem......

if the revs are getting to high Ii change up and if it wont go up I say "ohh shit thats fast" and then back off the throttle - i do have a big rear sprocket tho so its not really that fast

Ive gone looking for seventh on Gardner Straight but not on the road.

I always like to know what gear im in especialy coming down through the box .

I never remember - but I normally know - if you see the difference.
ie I don't count my gears. Check speed vs tacho and I work out what gear I'm in at any point.
Got more important things to focus on than remembering which gear I'm in.

the question all started from me thinking "i never remember, i wonder if anyone else does..

gear 0 is only required while attempting to save precious seconds in Galston Gorge's 5km/hr corners...

I usually have a good idea of what gear I am in, esp when say riding along the highway and coming to an 80 zone when I automatically knock it down on gear, or two when in a 60 zone. Unfortunately the Z750 seems to rev a little high and the sound of the revs has me searching for 7th when at higher speeds.
