u'll see there's not a huge difference between that and ur zzr

Hey that's mighty kind of you! I was sort of joking when I asked, but I've always wanted a ride on one of these.

My olds live in East Bentleigh and I tend to visit them at least once a week to check that they haven't burnt the house down or electrocuted themselves with the toaster, so it's easy for me to get out your way.

I know everyone says there's not much difference between the ZXR and the ZZR, but it's kind of like just because you've got a Commodore it doesn't mean you wouldn't mind having a drive of a Monaro or a HSV. :)

I certainly wouldnt go that far... perhaps the power is similar but it is delivered in a different way... the riding style is completely different, the bikes look different and ride different...

Yup, I actually once had a quick ride on a friend's Balius - I think they have virtually the same motor as the ZXR250 going by the specs. Despite the really high redline, I thought it seemed to have pretty good power at low revs, although that's probably got a lot to do with the gearing. It was a noticably smoother motor than the ZZR's.

i'm not saying the zx2 isn't better.
its just not that much better.
having ridden both back to back one day,
i wish i had of saved 2 grand and bought a zzr.
but that's just me.

I've been looking at zx2rs lately and noticed the 'new' silver ones have a speedo that goes to 240 where older ones go to 180.
Could the new speedo have been added to take care of the 'wind back'?

No the C models came with 240kmh speedo's, but possibly only the later ones made in Malaysia (no speed limiter)

The A (twin headlight) models had the 180 speedo's..

I've seen ZXR250's with 7000km on the clock and it's dead obvoius its been rewound, switchgear faded and generally worn bike.

Anything with under 20,000kms should still pretty much look as new.

mine is complied in 91 and its got 21k on it. some crash damage thats all cosmetic. and the gearing on it is fucking brilliant, no complaints except it floods really easily some mornings, than its down the hill for a start.
