Tack, did you paint the frame and swingarm yourself or send them out ? what sort of preparation was required for painting?

I started the frame polishing today... OMFG what a pain.. :shock: will look ok when I decide to finish it..lol

swingarm may get a paint job though..rofl

I just left the frame and swingarm alone Tape....if I was doing it i guess I would have them powder coated.

I would have to say this is a 6 foot bike......it looks ok from 6 feet away :D

I finally got the bike back from the Dyno. What a saga that turned out to be...the first guy couldn't even start the thing after a month of having it so I picked it up. Turned out...as correctly suggested by people on here...that it was just the plugs.....I was spewing that it was something so simple and a "professional" didn't even think of doing the basics.

Next the bike went to Dynobike in Moorabbin.....I told him that he was arrogant smartass... :lol: (that went down well... :D)... he said the carbies had crap all thru them....I couldn't work that one out as it had brand new fuel lines, brand new tank (which was fully sealed when purchased), new fuel filter plus the carbies had been cleaned 3 times with carby cleaner, air, detergents etc etc..recleaned.

I went down there and turns out the brass jets in the carbies are...well...what I would call "stained". There was no dirt in any of it...the jets were just not shiny enough apparently...so I told him to get the bill...I put all the carby parts in a bag...put the bike on the trailer...he seemed to want to "front" me about the whole thing so I told him not to be a sook and to get the bill for what he had done so far...I paid it and left... :lol: I don't reckon he will ever let me come back... :lol: I think it was an affront to his ego or something. :lol:

Personally I reckon that the fuel "stained" the jets...that's about it...I think he wanted to charge me for a complete carby clean then go for what ever else on the bike he could "find" wrong...It concerned me that others would/might just believe whatever this guy says and pay the bill...What was worse was he would probably have used the fuel in the bike anyway and the jets would have turned out the same...so it was all stupid in my opinion...anyway..he doesn't like me... :lol:

So I put the carbies together, put them back on the bike and took it to Race Replica over in Brooklyn. They did have a few problems initially however they worked thru them and finally got HP at the back wheel. I know it's not a huge amount but from the info I have seen thats pretty good for this particular year and model as it is supposed to be the lowest horsepower 750 produced in that series (ZXR750 thru to ZX7R).

Anyway, I was real happy with the way that Race Replica tried real hard to get everything right even though they had problems. They did exactly what I asked, didn't ring up with stupid complaints about dirt in the carbies, which incidentally, had not been cleaned or anything when it came back from Dynobike just reassembled, and they got reasonable horsepower for this bike.

So now I'm looking forward to taking it out to a track and trying to crash :lol:

What is it with these Dyno Enabled workshops!!! When I had my F3 I wanted to get it re-jetted (the standard jets on the CBR F3 are not adjustable)... So I figured I would take it to a mechanic with a Dyno .... Asked them to fit the jets and dyno it....

I got it back and it ran LIKE CRAP!!

In the low range it would accellerate much better but there was a huge flatspot right where the sweet spot should be... .it was popping every time I moved the throttle...

Took it to a racer mate of mine who had a look at it and straight away found that the jets were adjust completely opposite to what they should have been... apparently they were 2 notches away from the bottom instead of from the top.....

I went back to the dyno place and told them about this... and asked for my money back....... considering they opened up my bike under the pretence of knowing what they were doing, but didnt have a clue.... They came very close to throwing me out....... Luckily im a big bastard....
