Cost control is priority 1 2 and 3 for those guys - that's how the company has been in business for 20 odd years. Customer service is something that I don't think they'll ever get the hang of, because it interferes with cost control. Their thinking is along the lines of "Yes we lost a heap of customers when we discontinued our plan with only 4 weeks notice, but at least we didn't lose 2 cents on our resale of bandwitdth!"
I too am an ex-employee of TPG (Brissie) and as John H said am not surprised in the least, the owner DT is a very ruthless SOB a very rich one mind. Customer service has never been one of there strong points as an ISP provider.

I'm with TPG too, have been with them for about 6 months at the last house then relocated here about 6-8 months ago.. Still no email.
But I've decided I'm going to can my account with TPG at teh end of Feb cause my anniversary date is 29th of each month, plus I'll be at the supers so if it takes a few days I won't really be around much to notice.
MMMmmm 36g a month plus uncapped 1am - 10am... Roll on 120gb a month... MMMmmmm
Think I might need to look at getting another 250gb Hard Drive.. lol

"Dear Valued Customer,
The ADSL Broadband plan you currently subscribe to (1.5M Value Unlimited) is no longer offered. We apologise for any inconvenience, however this has been necessitated by changes to our costs for your plan.
In order for you to continue receiving TPG's Broadband service you need to migrate to another plan before the expiry date of your current subscription on 15/02/2006."
The bastards.... Now what?
I GOT ONE OF THOSE!!!!!

The bastards said that if I wanted to keep the 1.5M then I would have to pay $80 a month instead of the $50 a month I was originally paying. Bloody theiving BASTARDS!!!

Wow, I have a TPG ADSL account which costs a measley $20/month, and have had it for over a year now.
Its limited to 200meg/month, but that's generally enough for me, cause I do most of my surfing at work. Its rare that I go over that, and when I do its only a couple of bucks.
I haven't received any email yet, and I'm prayin I don't.

Well now a week after Jason got his email and still nothing from TPG for me

Having said that, keep going as I am this month and it's bound to happen, billing period starts on the 21st and done 18.5 Gb already, still 21 days to go before I can start anew
And yes, I do know I can carry on beyond the 20Gb mark but I really have no desire to go back to dialup speeds so will keep my 1Gb headroom for now
