i was lucky enough to juat make it into the 660cc rule,
so my Beloved XR600 served me well, road tyres, gearing for about 160k flat out, was awesome up to about 120 then poobahh haha
it was quicker than honda cars too, and those little CBR250 RR buzz boxes
but nothing compares to a big bike :D

The Lebbo fly by doesn't count!

I don't condone this behaviour but we've all been young, dumb & full of.... er... you get the point.

A couple of months back, I was beside a Pulsar and took off from a set of lights straight up to the speed limit of 90km/h (strange speed limit, I know). I settled right on the speed limit and cruised along... about 6 seconds later the Pulsar came flying past still on full throttle and continued off into the distance, never to be seen again. I guess that makes his car faster than my bike!

Yeah the only way you can get a 250 to thrash other cars is if you launch them bloody hard!!! But as said above, any decent driver in an AWD turbo with a hip-pocket large enough to do 6000rpm clutch-dumping launches will eat you for breakfast. (ahhh brings back memories of my Celica GT4)

You are always gonna beat a car "at first" but when you reach about 100 they will catch real quick on a 250....

So at that point you slow down...

This makes it appear as if you won :)

same with like a litre bike VS a murcilago or bmw M6...

rediculous accelleration on the bike, but they top out at like 180mph where the supercars can get to 200mph+

Many of the new cars are nudging (and even crossing) the 400km/h mark. Off the shelf. In a road car.

That's cool.

it wasn't even a Type R, ya know without the lightening parts and stuff, but just never thought the power of the 250s run out after 100kph.

i do agree with how u rev hard and drop the clutch and it worked, but just that honda caught up really fast and the other day was talking to this guy just purchased his 2003 R6 telling me how slow my 250 was and our friend's NSR would beat it to dead meat in no time. so i thought was it that slow.................and now i have the answer................

Gotta be the bike or the rider.. I had my ZX2 upto 190 coming back from Hobart to catch the Ferry. Had a full race system though *shrugs*

You may find and this is just a suggestion.. Your clutch slips alot... I know of a few people including myself that suffered from abit of excessive clutch slipage, which affects acceleration.. And possibly abit of tuning.. air filter dirty? and possibly the stock muffler is abit to restrictive.

IMO the ZX2R from my experience goes pretty hard, I never had a car beat me off the lights.

And what is it with people trying to get bikers to drag.. got it all the time on the 250.. And I finally get a 600 and it rarely happens.. It's just not fair.

I wouldn't worry about trying to prove anything to a some guy in a car anyway. In relative terms, any idiot can drive a car (most do!) Riding a bike requires a lot more skill, so what have you got to prove to some guy in a tin top anyway?

Your grandma flying JetStar is going to accelerate and cruise faster than any road car, 95 Honda VTiR included.

i only ever got mauled on my 250 by an M3 bmw and a SS ute... would beat em across the intersection but then it was over... the SS was churning the tyres each time it changed gears (auto) and that really shot off into the distance so hardly stock methinks

a 4 stroke 250 will always seem painfully slow compared to a late model 600cc sports bike, and definately slower than an (unrestricted) NSR250 or RGV, RS etc

who knows what the honda had done to it any way, take it on the chin, use your bike to learn how to ride (any maybe even enjoy it) before upgrading to something bigger.... then you can keep an eye out for that integra  but he wont want a bar of it by then

they will only have a go against a 2 fiddy because its a chance to 'beat a bike'...... god most car drivers ( read WRX/ any ricer shitbox) are full-tilt wankers......

some idiots try running against the old Zed :D thanks to them, I got my launch technique worked out real good........which was very helpful when racing....

and nobody bothers trying to run the 12.......at least I haven't noticed them if they have......... is that a speck in the mirror ???

Ummm when you say many I guess you mean the Mclaren F1 and the Buggatti Veyron......cause even F1 race cars don't "nudge" 400KM/h

Man you wanna head over here.....every Jap brand "Tuner" car and V8 on the raods has to try and prove they can best a bike.......they can't

i think the veyron is the only 400kph production car, the mclaren F1 does 386kph, which even my 250 could do with dirty carbys

there are a few cars on the road that could beat most any bike, but either they technically shouldnt be on the road, or they cost an arm and 2 legs :?

hmmm, sounds like the guy who pulled up next to me while i was "minding" chungy's zrx.........he says " that ol dunger is in good nick"

i'll farkin give you dunger sunshine.......

should have seen the look on his face at the next set of lights.........then i told him it was a 99 model 1100...........he then understood the error of his ways.

that bike was a farkin weapon...full akra system, k&n pods, jet kit, muzzy bits all over the place etc etc.......
