cos in those boots, and that jacket...u kinda look like one of the nightriders mates....
 Yes mate that's me......jacket fitted better back then :( - the Alpine Stars I have also had since 1980... - these are the Mk 3 versions, Jim Goose wore the Mk 2 versions......some minor detail differences in the shin plate, but *basically* the same boot.

Jonno - ithink they are my gloves .....couldn't get off my bike quick enough when we got there, had to hump those zoomies mate

funnel bong *uproarious chortle* !!!

I do remember that stuff GM - my mates gave me an old rabbitskin years ago to wear across the shoulders, like Toecutters jacket.........but it smelt pretty gross ( was fresh), so I never used it........I do have a really good *replica* of Toecutter's lid  , and some Oakley motocross goggles with the 'Mad staring eyes' hologram   they look shit-hot....oh bugger it, I better tell a silly story....

At the 2000 Bathurst bike meeting, a group of us rode there and camped from the Tuesday until Sunday. I wore the Toecutter lid and goggles for the whole trip......every time a car came past in the opposite direction, I just moved the head up and down slightly, to ensure that the 'mad eyes' reflection could be seen by the driver......one poor chick was looking right at me one one stretch, and all I remember is her eyes growing really round, and mouth opening to scream, the poor chick, she probably still has nightmares about it to this day...... -

pulling up at a section of roadworks, I was back in the pack a bit, and idled up to the front to check things out - the lollipop dude was looking away, but when he looked back, I was sitting there looking at him.....man he fell backwards and almost fell over.......the other bikers were caning themselves.......they look very 'real' these eyes........

If anyone else wants to do the Jim Goose look, I've got a pair of those boots at home (although mine are slightly different in style again). I got them second hand when I first got my Ls, together with some other decidedly "retro" second-hand gear. I didn't really understand the difference between motocross and roadbike boots (I thought bigger meant more protection!) After a few rides on the bike, I discovered the bloody chrome shin plate rubbed paint off the fairing on my previously pristine ZZR whenever I changed up down a gear. Expensive mistake!

Can't lay my hands on a pic. They look almost the same as yours, but the shinplate is more squared off. The shinplate has "HiPoint GP Pro" embossed into it and there's some little metal tag on the side that says "HiPoint USA", which is a bit odd given the Italian flag on the back of the heel. They only say AlpineStars on the sole. The wierd thing about them is they don't have any tag saying what size they are. But I tend to be a size 8 to 10 (depending on whether it's US or UK size) and they're a relatively snug fit on me, so I reckon they'd be too small if you're a size 11.
