James your old granny sounds awsome, very keen for pics of that.
Ok, my current Mopar fleet is down to 2: My Charger and a VE Valiant. Been trying to get rid of the wog chariots for ages, but i can't even give the shitboxes away!!!!!!!
The Charger is a 1971 VH
deluxe (comes with an ashtray) with a 265 Hemiroid and auto trans leak. I have $360 here that was originally going to go into it, but my brother are you crazy....did you hear what you are considering!!!!!! He reakons we would get more bang for our buck with an hour & a half at the knock shop. I would be putting a cammed 3.18centimetre from his CM into it, with a 360 degree head job, 650 double pumps with a Wei Man, indecent Extractors and a few other bits and pieces of kink. Will run all the way home when it leaves me in the lurch and stalls, and whatever gear we can find to get it to run,has got to be better than the standard housing. Just a cheapie, but it gives us something moderately on four wheels.
The VE is a standard 225 slant that has some kind of missing problem ATM (no the car is not lost; but my marbles are

) . I may as well pull my dick to find out what is going on, (it gives me more squirt than the Val EVER would) but once it is sorted I will run naked through the streets, with a stock 500 2bbl Holley and extractors strapped to my head. Just a typical mopar family type outing, so council park bench seats and unassisted drum machines all round will be taking care of the dooff dooff music, as will the swear shift auto (C'mon, get in there you fuking heapa.....Ahh there we go, smooth as silk

). Also going (very) cheap (C'mon, i'll pay ya to take the thing!)
the car is nothing special to look at or drive, but hey it's a Val, & isn't that what they were all about!!!!!I have also owned 3 Centuras, 2 VG sedans; one of which was 265 4spd, a VG coupe (complete with folding bench seats), an AP5 with V8 auto, a CL wagon which actually went really quick (I only parked it out front for like 2 minutes) with a another rebuilt Hemi (from one of the Centuras), and another Charger as parts to keep the current one going
YOU WOULD THINK THAT I WOULD'VE LEARNED BY NOW!!!!My only smart decision would have been a 351 XY falcon that ate shitbox Valiants for brekky and a HT gts monaro that was fast, but nowhere near as fast as the Falcon.
All of the above is the reason I have only recently gotten into bikes. I was gettin me shit together then & bought a kwaka

but then lost the plot & borrowed some other dickheads Suzuki, tried to reregister it & sell it quick b4 he realised it was missing

that went astray & the big men with blue shirts & pretty lights on their car, came & gave me a BIG talking to. This then sent me off the rails & I went & bought a fuken Yamaha....So as you can see, there's no fuken hope for me at all, but all donations to the
"What the Fuck was Drimi Thinking Fund" will be greatly appreciated

Would love to do similar mods to a HG Monaro one day....like in 25yrs when the kids grow up, get married and leave home.

Dude my first car was a 1968 Pontiac with a 350 and a Powerglide. Nothing like doing about 110 mph and redlining the engine huh.
Hope you had a Happy New Year

Now we're talking, lets all get teary & reminisce.....*sniff* my first car was a ht wagon, I wasn't as rich as you buggers with ya monaro's

it pulled a filthy burnout, but u couldn't drive over the humps at the drive in 'cause it turned into a see-saw.
Gos, what do ya mean in 25years m8, my neighbour also loves his monaro's & just bought a hk,with a 307chev & powerglide in original cond, its just had a
quick respray, but still needs the lower rear window & parcel shelf replaced, as well as a few other spotsa rust....cost him $17500, & you could easily spend 5- 10 grand to get it schmiko. as soon as the general announced they were stopping production with the cv8z, the price of all the monaro's went up overnight
bit of trivia, Monaro is an aboriginal word, does anyone know what it translates to in english

Crap Heap that hasn't got anything on a rusted old VJ Ranger 215 auto?
Or maybe Quick chuck ya spear at it, it's moving too slow to be of use....
Or something similar anyway.
Anyway Yapper frikin top post earlier on man, my missus was out here laughing her head off so I had to come see.... I owe you one.
Gozzo (hope ya don't mind being called that?): Mate your old VC looks similar to half the Vals I have owned, good thing was most of them beat the much better condition and more expensive Holdens, Fords and most other things that tried it on. Even beat a Porsche in one of the Centuras, and it had bad Orange paint, a green bonnet, glue all over the roof where I had dispatched the vinyl roof with a screwdriver, and miss-matched wheels all round. That dude (no doubt a Doctor or something) probably still has the nightmares....
Smitty: Are you sure you wouldn't rather have a Hemi in the Challenger? But yeah, those 6pac 440s sure are the next best thing. I really can never decide between Challengers and Cudas, but if forced at gun point would probably go the latter.

I had a VH Charger RT 4 replica, 2pac vitamin C orange paint, worked 265 hemi with 600 holley that reved to 8500rpm and ran a mid 13sec quarter while not getting full throttle, close ratio 4 speed box, scheel bucket seats, 15inch alloy mags.

mine used to pull 90mph in Low, and 120mph in High !!! It was a hoot, I have no photos of it though, very unfortunate oversight that

- I busted a couple of rocker arms in half one night, chasing a mate in a V6 Capri
Yappa - $17,500

Fcuk me dead mate, it must be in *really* good nick ...... *shakes head* ( I could've bought a HK 327 a month ago for 6 large, had rebuilt diff, 4 speed.......

, now I really do regret not grabbing it......)
Hemi -you can call me anything mate, I have the hide of an elephant

(and a memory to match it

) ....glad you liked the shots of old Brutus, it was a hell-rig thats for sure, and for its age, actually handled OK once the T/A's were fitted up....
we should probably get this thread moved to "Off-Topic" ?

Monaro translates to "a high plateau or high plain". Do you know what Torana translates to (including the alternate translations)
