The reason they released the RR is for people wanting to race in classes dictating a 600cc maximum.

Ofcourse it makes a difference... You can get a 50cc bike to move pretty quickly... add that horsepower to a 600 and and you have to get more acceleration... it makes senseGosling1 wrote:Yeh I am aware of the capacity limits for the class, but if the 600 is a dedicated *race* bike, then surely it would be faster around a track than its *road* based cousin ???? or does 36cc make that much difference ??
seems a bit strange ??![]()
Got to add the supersport race kit parts to make em go fast. That applies to all the supersport runners. Dial cams, reface valve seats, set up cams on degree wheel, weight match parts (basic blue printing) Loosen tolerances, change pipes and ignitions/maps, plus full Ohlins or equivelent race suspension ($2500 just for the fork kit aloneGosling1 wrote:why thank's Dan,Dan wrote:[... I hear you 12 boys are really good in straight lines and even better through the twisties![]()
So what is faster afterall, a *stock* 636 ZX-R or a *stock* 600 ZX-RR ??? I always thought that the track-only specials *must* have been better, otherwise there would seem little point in releasing 2 models ??
Stereo, I think the 2001 ZX6R was a 600, not a 636 (mine certainly is). It was upped to the 636 for the 2002 model, from memory.StereoHead wrote:(although the 2001 636 equals my bike in acceleration, I didnt feel it was as good in the corners or braking)
that'll NEVER happen mateStrika wrote:Not really a good idea Gosling. You may fall in lust with it and trade in the dinosaur
you have the best descriptions for being an old fart that i have ever seenStrika wrote:.... and a litttle more experienced in life than some,
Yeah Crap Gosling! You get out on the grid amongst all the younger riders and fcuk me are they keen to make sure they greet the flag before the old fart on the old ZX6Gosling1 wrote:you have the best descriptions for being an old fart that i have ever seenStrika wrote:.... and a litttle more experienced in life than some,![]()

you know, one of the quickest riders up at Wakefield last weekend was a bloke from Queanbeyan, who was riding his Malvern Star to the shops when Queen Elizabeth was coronated![]()

Once you put those leathers and that lid on, age becomes an irrelevance. All that matters is that you retain the balls of an 18 yo![]()
errr I am not as quick as I used to think I was GoslingGosling1 wrote:![]()
Give it the berries mate !! I tell you what, its all those years of *experience* that make us *more mature* riders as quick as we are.........

I'm not talking to you...Cath wrote: IMO, if you're looking at the ZX6, the '02 and the '05 are the better examples in the last five or six years, depending on which seating position/style you're after.
