I found that problem too! In first and second gear the bloody front end was weird.........kept on rising to the blue heavens on the gear changes.

Found the Z750/Z1000 gave me much more confidence in the bends.
And if the front end dosn't instill confidance, have it set up properly. Most bikes people take out for 10minute test rides are setup too frigging hard or too bloody sloppy and when both front and rear are neither here or there.... not really confidence inspiring. So the bikes get a thumbs down in most cases.

Have the shop set the bike 'up' (tyres, weight etc) for you properly in the suspension department before going out. Means the difference between a sale or a bad experience. That applies to any bike you want to buy! :)

I bought the Z750
Its easy and comfortable to ride.
its got plenty of power for me too

the only thing that really annoys me is the mirrors.
all i get to see is my arms no matter how i place the mirrors.

Im gonna get bar end mirrors when i find a set i like

Go one tooth up in the front sproket. This may 'shorten' your chain a bit also but will also give you a taller higher gear.
esie75 wrote:The main irk that bites me about my Z is when in higher speeds (ie above 110 or so) I am always looking for another gear, as the engine sounds like it is reving high. I am sure there is a technical explanation for this, but I don't know the offical terms :)
Hope it helps.

Just got a trade in figure - $2k for the XJ...

I'm probably going to ring them during the week and see how I go with a c/o of my choosing...
