That's a very dirty and beat-up version of my unused lock. The braided cable slips over the bar with the lock mechanism in it and when you close and lock the lock it's locked on there.

Don't forget the fluoro lead over your brake lever as well - I started using a disc-lock a few years ago , forgot about it once, had the missus on the back, and the front wheel did almost 1 full rotation ( just enough time to get both feet on the pegs ) - before the bleedin' obvious happened, and I had the missus climb almost halfway up my back, as the jewels were squashed up against the tank .........ouch

Forget the fluro tubing Corrie.
In your line of business I'm sure you can get a bit of rubber tubing ?

When the disk lock is fitted you slip the rubber tubing over the ignition key and when the lock is not fitted you slip the rubber tubing over the disk lock key (also stops the key from marking the top yoke)

I've used Krypto locks religiously for a couple of years now, i have the d type lock on one bike but i prefer the pin type lock that goes thru the hole in your rotor.

One of my work mates was using one of these locks when someone attempted to remove his and his brothers bike from their fathers work shop. The thieves tried a hacksaw, broke that then a 4 ins disk grinder, wore the cutting disk to nothing, then they unbolted the compound drop saw from the bench and that cut thru the lock.

My workmates parents came home and opened the front gate to discover both bikes idling in the driveway with riding gear ready to go but no one about, talk about home in the nick of time!

A Xena alarm disclock.
I haven't made it go off yet, I might wait until to neighbours are asleep
The box reads - 110dB alarm!!

Woo Hoo, "Bike safety" and "Pissed off neighbours" in one purchase!!! hehehehe j/k

got me a chromey one of those too, goes off if you start the bike ( i hang it off the bottom so it sits free, if you do it towards the front of the disc it sits against it and harder to make it go off). It's not very loud, but good enough if someones touches your bike on a quiet midnight.

The alarm is not only to warn you if someone is messing with your bike but should also stop you from riding off with it on...

Only problem is its not too sensitive so you can actually get going before the alarm goes. Then it serves to let everyone know what you just did...

you kidding? mine goes off if you sneeze near it! The instructions that came with it reccon you can adjusat sensativity by where you place it on the disk. Low for low, high for high. Doesn't make much diferance when you putr the key in though, that always sets it off.
