I was always under the impression that if you removed the boom box then you had to get a link pipe with the o2 sensor bung in it.and that you then had to get a power commander or something similar to tune it.
Am i wrong about this??
I'll admit that i havent really looked that closely into it!!

The Austin I fitted has the bung for the o2 sensor. Before I got it I spoke to the manufacturer about the need to have it tuned and he said that there's no need. I've had it fitted for about 8000ks now with no issues and it runs fine.

Yes you are right but it also gets rid of "at least " 5kg .

I ended up ordering an Austin racing exhaust with a v3 titanium can, purely because I liked the look of it, they have a dyno chart on there website comparing the Austin to the akraprovic slip on but I didn't read to much into it, also have the mid pipe with the o2 sensor, will post pics once complete.. After doing a bit of reading it seems like the greatest advantages of a Slip on are sound, looks and weight reduction and if gain a hp here or there its a bonus..
I plan on getting the bike dyno'd before and after, so will keep posted with results, thanks for all the info, and thanks myzxr for putting me onto the Austin..

I really do hate looking at the boom box!

A local mob in Sydney called bikesconnect pty ltd, payed a little more than ordering straight from the supplier but not that much more..

Pretty impressive goes to show ya can get some substantial power gains from removing the cat and installing mid pipe and slip on..
I'll be going through this process in the next couple of weeks and also getting my ecu flashed using the Woolich racing technology, will hopefully have some good info in regards to hp gained in the coming weeks..

Got the exhaust on, (sorry for poor quality photo's) sounds great, I decided to buy the Woolich racing log box pro and tune myself, so I won't have the before slip on dyno info, but I plan on doing a dyno run once I have tuned and derestricted further, should have that info in the next few weeks..

Has anyone got any experience with the Woolich racing software? Inc the log box?

Just a quick update, there is a bit of a difference in opinion wether to have your bike tuned after you remove your cat and install a mid pipe and slip on, this is just my experience.
since installing the AR mid pipe and shorty slip on, i was noticing some spluttering low down in the rev range while getting on the gas and also some heavy popping on decel.
now that i have had the bike tuned with the Woolich racing software, i would like to share the dyno results, they may look pretty modest.

Before- max power 167.5hp @ 12811rpm, max torque 74.1 lb-ft @ 10678 rpm.
After- max power 173.4hp @ 12536rpm, max torque 76.5 lb-ft @ 10664 rpm.

but the difference in the smoothness of power delivery is quite unbelievable, it feels like a completely different bike after only a few hours of adjustment using the software, i imagine this can continually be improved on with the log box pro.

As i mentioned above this is just my experience/opinion..
