This is the actual motor on the back of the Caddy - its called the Caddy because its got nice chrome bumpers on the transom, and it rides like a Cadillac
The old girl is a 15' Caribbean Galaxy - made by Pride/Bertram in Melbourne. Built in the mid-60's, the hull is still watertight but the deck is fuxxored....
90hp Chrysler with the flash electronic ignition

Im having flashbacks now. My old mans 45 was exactly the same design. Mustve been about the same vintage, somewhere around mid 70's Id guess. He had that on a Little Monark Oceanic. He then bought a 17' Nautiglass which had the 115 on it (with the sexy newerpaint job and the flash stripes). That was a good boat. Also had a tinnie with a 10, then a 15, then a 25 on it, all Chryslers
Everyone used to bag the crap out of Chrysler outboards but we never had a drama with any of them. The little 10 was a bastard to start if you didn't know what you were doing though.
When the old man got crook we sold the Nautiglass for 5k

because we had nowhere to keep it. The motor was like bloody new though

yep, hearing you about the bad press around the old Chrysler motors.......but the bloke who sold me this one, loved the motor heaps. He reckons it was economical when trolling - could go all day on 1 tank of juice. The only reason I ended up with it, was because he wanted to be able to pull 2 skiers barefoot out of deep water. The 90 would only pull one
One of the local outboard mechanics here loves the old Chrysler triples - he reckons they were one of the toughest motors built.
