PC's Gen1 is a Zed that I love riding - and even more now that is has a sorted ZX6R shock and the forks done by Laurie Smith. Great fun bike that will do everything you want and then a bit more........mind you I am yet to have a strop on MickLC's new Gen 3 yet. Did have a short spin on Phil's immaculate Gen 1 Zed as well, it was fantastic.

That may change everything !

but there is no doubt, a good 03-06 can be sorted easily and will give you heaps of bang for your buck.

I love the Gen III Zed's and will be keen to hit Mick C up for a go of his on the CDT (with the offer of a go on the ZRX ;) ), They really do make my Gen I seem outdated. I have ridden the Hoff's a few times and it is simply brilliant. Havent had a go on Rod's yet but Cols Carbon Creation is a 140+HP monster  with the PC5, FCE, full system etc so Rod's wont be much different.

But Gos hit the nail on the head with his comment

You can pick them up for half the price, spend a little on suspension and a good pipe and you have a grin a mile wide..........just dont ride a Gen III ;) :kuda: :kuda:

Looking forward to it mate. I'm not going down the "more power" route with mine, stepping off a Crim there's not much point and I had enough of more power than I could put to the ground.
I am planning on getting it handling well though, it's just a shame our local suspension guy is going O/S for 6 months.

I had a Z1000 2007 - before they got all gay and had two toned tanks and new engines.I ftted it with yoshis and some other trick bits and an over sized rear tyre and she rode really well. Rode the 2012 ninja 1000 and the ZX10R the other day (for some tme). out of both the new Ninja made me smile - same riding position etc. ZX10R sounded tinney with little noise - lots of grunt though. Hunt around for a decent priced second hand bike - but be scared at Z1000s with two toned tanks and any after 2007...traded my black (sorry not green or orange) one into Canberra motorcycles the other week as part ex for my 14.
