Hmmm I'm only reading this thread now but I too have embarked on a journey to make myself smaller! hahahaha I'm 5'10" and...
Start weight: 84k on 12/10/12
Current weight: 78Kg
Target weight: 70Kg (last time I saw that on a scale I was 14-15yo... probably in Roman numerals too)
I lost 6Kg without doing any exercise, just reducing portion sizes (by a lot), increasing the number of meals (every 3-4hours max) and cutting "bad" food from my diet.
I was happy** with my shape but I recently had a series of exams done (as one should when reaching 35) and it turns out my cholesterol levels were getting nasty... so no more cheese, red meat and #@%load of things that LOVE!!
I'm even drinking light soy milk now... not that I'm proud of it of anything! hahahaha Calcium helps you lose weight and fish (omega3) helps with the cholesterol so I've eating loads of baby spinach, tuna, salmon, etc.
First week was the hardest (that and drinking less - A LOT less), now I'm used to it. Will hit the gym next week cause I feel I'm about to hit a flat spot...
The bright side is that it should improve my hp/kg ratio when riding the ZX6R... so I've promised myself to re-fit the Race ECU and take the bike to a dyno to get it tuned!
**happy means it wasn't bad enough to make me wanna exercise... hahaha

My height of 5'9" puts me in about the same weight category as you, once we get past Christmas I hope to be able to get that low but I will need a heap of exercise & hopefully not loose a heap of mussel mass
Luckily I gave up drinking & smoking years ago, just gotta cut the Coke Zero habit

Coke Zero I'd given up in June, lost 3Kg in 2 weeks!!!!!!! That sh@t is baaad for you! I always heard ppl say it but it wasn't till I quit that I saw the results first hand... I used to drink at least 2-3 full glasses a day. Sometimes more... so there was a period when I missed it a lot! hahahaha

One thing that is dead easy to do and you really don't realize your doing much is every tv add break, get up off the couch and do 15 push ups, squats and crunches.
Because your not doing set after set you don't feel it as much but by the end of the night you've doing 100plus of each.

Not going to start a new thread title, so John I have extended the date
From a start in September 2012 of 90KG with regular exercise & curbing the crap food the kilos have been dropping off gradually, Christmas was a killer as I had gained 3-4+ but January has seen a comeback & now I am sitting at 77KG

but that's top end of the scale for my height 70 or below is where is would like to be, time for more exercise!

Go Rob...
Well after the OP I have had a few setback.
Spirits are up a bit atm so going to start again. I have held at about 113 for a while without much concentration.
Damn coffee milk is my downfall.

Didn't think I'd ever be part of this thread but thing change eh
I've been skinny as a rake my whole life but these first few years in my 30s I've put on about 12kg , especially notice it in my gut, shirts getting "smaller" etc

. Got to the point where I'd better do something about it otherwise I assume I'll just get bigger and bigger?
Soooo I've started a workout DVD set called "Insanity" and the name is spot on, it's pretty insane! It's based on what the bloke calls "maximum interval training" where you do different sets of exercises then swap over and over, going as hard as you can until you have to stop to rest for a few seconds.
There's about 12 different workouts based on things like cardio, plyo, strength, upper body, core, sport etc and there's also yoga-based stretching. It uses your own body weight and needs no equipment. It's bloody hard makes you sweat like crazy.
3 weeks into it and the results speak for themselves, my belly has shrunk (or my core is holding it better

) and have put on muscle allover, feels heaps stronger, have more energy and am sleeping better.
Plan to keep going with it and because there are lot of routines I doubt it'll get boring quickly, it just gets harder as you get fitter so you can push yourself for longer.

I heard Dr Karl say that chololate milk is the perfect after-workout recovery drink because of the energy and protein it has.

Gday Rob,
Mate I downloaded the full deluxe set from a torrent, I'll burn a copy to dvd if you'd like, it's worth a lot of money I think
