Mate, we've had down to minus 2 already this season, half a dozen times minus one and numerous times around zero. This morning wasn't too dad, it was 2, but the fog was so bad I had to ride along the centre line of the road
you should have come with us last weekend to do Reefton
plenty of practice, following the white line in the middle at 25kmh
it was blanket fog job up past Marysville ...
not nice :(

I'm using a 100w / 90w blub for the past 6 months with no issues. Seems to be brighter than normal. I used to have a 130w / 80w in a GPZ750 Unitrak back in '83 and used it every day for 4 years with no problems.
My 2.5c (thats inflation for ya)

You can pick up decent bulbs at a lot of places. Don't buy the el-cheapos from Supacheap as they're crap.

Get a name brand like Narva or Hella. They cost a couple of bucks more, but they're brighter and last longer. I've got an Austa in my bike at the moment (I live in the middle of nowhere, I needed a bulb and there's not a great deal of choice) and it seems ok. My last Narva came from a well-stocked servo.

I'll actually go one further and say look at where the bulb is made. Most of the good ones are made in Germany.

They do have good bulbs in Supercheap, and they seem OK pricewise there. I got a TRIFA, but there are others. Servo's probably do have bulbs, but they will be expensive.

So what have you decided to go for?

Oh, and I keep the original wrapped in bubble wrap under the seat - you just never know.
