Thats not a Zephyr Shiny, its a ZR7, same motor but different look, and not as good looking as a Zeph IMHO.

The ZRX1100 and 1200 are not all that different, except that your more likely to find a 1200 with lower K's and in better condition. The 1100's were 99 & 2000 models, the 1200's 2001-2008 with the 08's and 04's & 03's the pick of the bunch looks wise ;)

Best blank canvas for making your own motorcycle ;)

Do tell..... ;)

High on the list I will admit...Whats the 1100 like?
Bit older I know but is there that much difference?
The main difference is the lack of torque down low in the rev range. Having owned both, they really don't feel that different to ride; the grin factor from the extra power of the 1200 is worth going that option though. Once they are set up well they don't feel heavier than a smaller bike when you are riding them, but they do when you are pushing them around.

Do yourself a favor and lash out and hunt down a z900 in good nick, not only will it give you back that old scholl feel where u actually have to ride her,it would be a great investment.

My head says a Z...but the heart says a ZRX....the back/shoulder says a cruiser... :?

Still keeping the trackies though so I can occasionally do track days and revive the 9s awesomeness. 8)

You will find the ZRX more comfortable than the Z. You can also raise the bars on the ZRX and make it like a cruiser. ;)

If you're up our way John, call in and take mine for a spin. At least then you will know for sure what they feel like.

While you're up here, you could check out the mint '08 model ZRX with 9000km on it at Trever Jordan Motorcycles. ;) They want a bit much for it, I think they are asking for $9000, but you should be able to get them to knock a bit off that.

And if its stock we might know where there may be a performance pipe for it too ;) Nelso and I can then put you on the path to righteousness   8) :kuda:

It's got some aftermarket can on the standard system already but I would get rid of it and put a full system on it if I was buying it.

hey laidback... I found the loan bike when i get the ZRX serviced (triumph bonniville/W800 style) with its very straight back upright position,
was actually harder on the back than the ZRX, the REX for me, seems to distribute weight evenly between shoulders and back,
making for a very comfortable seating position capable of 400km+ day rides.
but as the others said.. you gota ride a few....

Cheers
