Dont know what the answer is jonny?? the drainage ditch pulled them up... but at a cost... now they run on thru to exit of southern loop.. watched a bike do the same thing a couple of years ago, ended up crossing the track at exit of southern loop. luckly didnt take anyone out..just not a nice place to get it wrong....

You would think that there could be a way to pull them up slowly even if it was a huge gravel trap on an incline. What's a life worth.....
Maybe something might be done during the resurfacing upgrade works.

some sort of sand trap, maybe, they use those fucking big stones in the run off to pull the V8's up.. but not so nice for the bikes... they been complaining for years about the size of em... maybe a light sort of sand trap, that still allowes them to keep upright and wash speed off???

But look at broady mate. no sand traps.. nowhere to run off, fuck all run off, crash corner, they got the escape road wrong... turn 1, bugger all run off, i know, ive run on there a few to many times in recent years... litre bikes arrive there at around 230 k's.. try pulling them up on the grass, and miss the tyres and the wire fence... at least they moved that back... and that clamed to many lives over the years... 2 in one day some time ago..

Dont know, but they sure need to address it..

do we dare compare pi to iom tt course? or the nordschleife?

yes its dangerous, but that becomes its attraction

Its one of those things.. PI fast, and with that comes the risk.. and yes we love the speed it generates... but not the losses when they come... i think it is a safe enough circuit, just not a place to get things wrong... there are big run off area's, maybe the hayshed could do with a upgrade!!!

Overnight on Saturday, PI officials erected a very long tyre wall, faced with air fence at the spot to ensure that a rider/bike from running across the infield and rejoining the track.

After reading a run down on the two Superbike races it looks like Biaggi is going to be hard to beat this year. Both he and the bike appear to be very, very, very fast! I think he topped the top speed with 325. The Gp bikes only do 334 or something close to that. Plus, running off in race two and picking up 2nd is a Rossi esque performance. He must be hungry too! I'd love to be wrong and have Tom nail them for the rest of the season, but I think MAx and Carlos will be at it.

The Turk or the Frenchman look good finally in WSS, if they can both be consistent.....who knows?? We know Kenan can, not sure about Fabio though???

Superglue for super sport tittle this year...

Can't see anyone beating max if he stays healthy, that performance in the second race was off the planet, if the race went for ten more laps he would've beaten chucka as well.

Really it's almost a GP bike that he's riding if we want to be real..

He got slammed into not far from the start line.

With regards to the gravel trap, having gone off at turn 2 and into the gravel trap, they do work, eventually. Thought I had the tyre wall tagged as the bike just wasn't slowing down as I was reaching the point of "bike you are on your own" it slowed and then got bogged. Rooster tailed it out.

Aprilla - to take out the championship by a country mile, their CRT bike is already up to the back of the satellite Ducati team with only 15 minutes of testing

Yeah, apparently the CRT Aprilia engined thing was only a few kph slower in top speed in testing. It's proper fast isn't it!!
