Check out MCAS at Liverpool or Auburn. They've always got sets on special if you're not overly fussy.
Having said that I've just put a set of M5's on the Rex via Glenn at Allfixed and I'm loving them.

Yeah, but the biggest lean angle you ever get is on the side stand!!

Mark, that bike liked any tyre but michellin, it did well with conti sport front and attack rear, it liked bridgstones, it loved shinko's, it would do great on Metz or Pirelli and I am sure Phil would have suggested them being a heavy bike.

At least your tyres are currently getting more wear than mine? Unless they wear just sitting there?????

Since the Rex is back I've ridden every day of every weekend so far. I'm loving it, but with my near wildlife moment yesterday I might need to reconsider the early morning excursions.

Did your early morning excursion cause an early morning evacuation?

Want cheap tyres go here
http://www.jakewilson.com/
Hate promoting importing and taking away from the Aussies but when you get 2 for the price of one unbeatable.
I've Only ever had bridgstones but had several model (BT56) low puss bucket of a tyre. Bt023's awesome tyre life vs grip Also have had Bt016's Oem and the Pro versions these have more grip than I could overcome being the slowest thou rider in Australia and all

OEM's were a bit harder.
I also get about 8-10k out of them 15k out of the OEM. Mate runs corsa 3's they are pretty much slicks he dosen't get many k's out of them lol.

Glen, I can apriciate that, that's why I don't do early runs after the turkey incident.

Actually it was a bit of an after event evacuation. By the time I realised a kamikaze Wallaby was heading my way it was a matter of just hanging in and hoping for the best. Doing anything else would've had consequences. Luckily it turned out fine. He actually did me a favour though as a couple of corners later there was a plod with a radar pointed at me and I'd buttoned off a bit so was only 20klm's over but he wasn't bothered (bigger fish to fry I presume).

...and my whole reason for going early is to avoid PC Plod but he's been up there both mornings before 7.30 so I might as well go later and just deal with him rather than the wildlife as well

If it's not one thing it's another, I think I'll take up knitting.

Had a pilot on my ZX6r of same age it was.best Tyre I ever had on a bike felt solid and gripes really well in the wet , look at putting one on the 1100 but don't want to.waste the.brand new metzeler on it but it just dosent feel right I think the compound is.bit hard.for.my likeing but that's just my opinion, but it just doesn't fill me with confidence like the pilot did, also considering a perieli diablo rode the friends bike and felt nice.
At end of day might take u a few Tyre changes to find the 1 u like every1s different and has different wants .

funny thing is last weekend in the adelaide hills on my way to birdwood, i come around a corner full lean, and about 8 full grown cows met me on the other side takeing up both lanes running straight at me, ended pulling it up giving them a few beeps an waited till they went back in the yard they came from about 50 metres up the road.
the next day there was a dog just sitting in the middle of the road on the white line, so that made me stop as i didn't know which way it was gonna bolt.
both times i was on my dads newley purchased zx12 as he hasn't rode it much an stores it at mine, all i could think is, shit how would i explain 8 cows and would he even believe me or just think nah you f*&ked up.
