Say What?

What Steve, now you're saying traffic system is not organized and operates at higher speeds compared to some other nations? Do I need to post a link from Mumbai traffic or something?

I mean in Aus the only thing organised is the revenue machine and the only high speeds are when we are naughty

I will stick my hand up to taking off a mirror once, around 20 years ago.
Heading down Parramatta Rd in peak hour traffic on my old KDX200. This guy in an F100 sees me coming up between the cars, doing around 30km/h, so he moves over to block me. Instead my barkbusters take the mirror clean off and I keep going like nothing has happened. IMHO, it serves him right. He actively tried to screw me over, and instead it bit him in the ass. I wouldnt do it these days on that stretch of road, but some people have it coming.

get lost. I ride a bike daily and have every right to just like cars and moto's. As long as we follow the law like everyone else there should be no whining. But hey it's human nature to carry on.
So chill out man

But where do we draw the line at?
Horses, kids on pushies/skateboards/scooters , prams, electric disability scooters (in qld they are regoed free) shopping trolleys, drunks crossing freeways at 4 am.
I know, instead of microchipping everyone how about we all share the road with the courtesy we expect from others
I like an arguement no one can win

I lost my licence for being stupid on my motorbike, now ride a bicycle & I am not sure which one I am more dangerous/aggressive on:
-I split/filter on both.
-I pull in front of cars at traffic lights.
-I will go up a footpath on either if it saves time.
-I run red lights if it is clear.
-Both are narrow, take up a small portion of a lane and frustrate those wanting to go past me.
-I assess risk and make calculated decisions all of the time.
-I do not want to pay registration, ever.
As a cyclist if I had to pay registration I would be annoyed as what is next? Skateboarders? Rollerbladers? Runners? Bugger that.
I think (but have no evidence) cagers, motorcyclists, cyclists, truck drivers etc all have similar percentages that are disrespectful so I do not understand why anyone would single out drivers, scooter riders, motorcyclists, cyclists, whatever.
We all want to get where we are going faster, cheaper etc, hate the government cashing in and need to learn to share the roads and accept that we are all different. When I was riding the twisties it was annoying to slow down for cars and cyclists but I just did it and went about my day, and was happier for it.
As far a lycra is concerned I do not understand full lycra unless you are competing but I had to go against my instinct and buy lycra shorts because chafing is a bitch. It drew blood!
Be happy and tolerant my friends. I have 10 months to go until I get my licence back so you will have to put up with me until then!

So people can walk up the outside lane on the freeway holding hands with someone else blocking traffic?
How is that different to a cyclist on the road?
What insurance do u have if u injure a pedestrian or damage a car?

I don't mind cyclists sharing the road, what i can't handle is when they start lane splitting in moving traffic. On a moto your gone before a cager knows you were there but on a pushy its a holy fuck moment.I had one guy the other day ride past me on the left just as i was going round a left corner. He had come flying down the road and hooked it round just as the lights changed and i moved off .Scared the crap out of me.

LOL i understand where you are coming from BUT pedrestians / every other style of means of point to point style of people DON"T act like pushbike riders, they on an average and a very high one at that "try to make problems" riding two/three abroad and using the whole road to show there orthority of what they "think" they can do.When it comes to the crunch everyone knows ,using theoretic's in my world doesn't work!

Some people just don't care, some just don't look and then again others flaunt the law due to anonymity. There are issues on both sides, but I think an identifying plate would solve a lot of them.
