At this point if someone said to wave a dead rat over it three times then stick it in the tank and chant kumbya while sucking red jellybeans in the corner of the garage I'd try it.
Thanks mate. I'll give that a crack when I get it back

Just a thought.... have you checked the pressure release valve on the tank cap? Or have you had it running from an external fuel source with same result? Just a simple thing, so worth checking.

Put the old exhaust back on and give that a go. Have you checked for any vacuum leaks also?

Thanks guys. I'm going to pick it upon Tuesday and then I'll go over everything that everyone has posted up and see if one of them works. My gut tells me it's something stupid as we've eliminated the major stuff I think. I'm also going to stick a stock air filter back in it and see if that makes a diff.

Well guess what we've found. The twat who worked on the bike for the previous owner in an attempt to presumably make it run better did a few dodgeys.
We'd already found the needles in it were ridiculous. They were actually stepped in about half way down, the only time Craig had seen these previously were on a TZ Yamaha, so it went from stupidly lean to stupidly rich in an instant, however that didn't fix the miss.
When I got it it had a bodgey exhaust on it with a plate welded on the link pipe after it had been shortened, so I flicked that for the Muzzy.
Now we've just found the snorkel on the side of the airbox is missing so there's just a dirty great hole in the airbox. I found one at Vic Motorcycle wreckers for $25 so it should be here tomorrow. We'll give that a go and hopefully that might be it. I'm also punting the K and N filter in favour of the stocker as well just to get the airbox back to dead standard. On the ZRXOA forum the guru's (in particular the guru of all guru's) all reckon its something to do with the airbox so I'm hoping they're right. This could also explain why it suddenly appeared when I put the Muzzy system on.
I'll put an update in tomorrow with the results.
Some people just shouldn't be allowed to play with motorbicycles.
Don't worry Hoff, if this doesn't work I'll be coming round for the hammer.

Just out to help but if you have a miss on the dyno it can alter the 'real' AFR's buy a long way,all i mean is the AFR's can look rich or vise verser depending on the problem. When you find the prob as it can be hard to find without actualy seening what is happening your best bet is to get it run up again just to make shore your AFR's are write.

Yeah absolutely mate that's the plan. The bike is still sitting on the Dyno at C and M so we'll plug the hole in the airbox tomorrow and run it and see if that does it. If not then I'll take it home and just keep fiddling till I find it. Once I do then it'll be straight back on the Dyno again.
Fingers crossed for tomorrow.

You think I'm stoopid. I'm not falling for that.
I looked it up on the interwebs and I need special Kawasaki smoke, my facebook friend told me so.
