Wurth brake cleaner is used by most bike joints, expensive but very friendly on rubber, plastic and paint.

With u on this one..RichB wrote:I think it's amusing to put sh1t on your tyres to remove the current sh1t on them, sounds crazy to me. Scrub them in/ride not as aggressively until thy feel normal and it's fine, current tyres have little to no residue on them, it's mostly mental as that's what we've been brought up with. I can't remember how many times I've gone out and forgotten after 2 corners it's new tyres, I will admit that was with warmers which makes a difference. Where's Tack anyway, he'd have a few points to chip in.
Then I should have taken a Pic of the rims I picked up a few days ago after getting tyres fitted, there was lube everywhere, add to that putting the rearRichB wrote:, current tyres have little to no residue on them, it's mostly mental as that's what we've been brought up with.

wheel back on with chain lube, lube from spacers & axel potentially ending up on the tyre (doing it solo) I like the peace of mind that a quick going over with tyre buff will ensure no nasty little surprises, I would rather not take a hero approach... especially after ending up on my ass when new tyres were fitted by Mad Kuntz at the creek who just fitted them & handed them over as is..... once bitten twice shy
With both of you. No need to put more crap on them. Just go out and each corner you lean it a little further until you can feel the tyre come in. I usually am ready to rock and roll after the first lap with new tyres. Provided it isn't wet.born green wrote:With u on this one..RichB wrote:I think it's amusing to put sh1t on your tyres to remove the current sh1t on them, sounds crazy to me. 1st session is a warm up session anyway, or should be.. head in gear, check bike, make sure all's sweet.
1st couple of laps, scrubs them in, all ive ever done, and i never dropped my bike doing it that way.
mate, the amount of guys ive seen go down at turn 12 in the 1st couple of laps at the start of the day is amazing!!! i dont get why they go so hard so early in the 1st session, broady is often still cold and damp.photomike666 wrote:Just watch the left side at Broadford, it doesn't used until the last turn (just when you're getting confident on the right side grip)
That's an actual icon??? wtfrobracer wrote:Yeah we need more control in the over use of LUBE!
