Gotta love Adelaide.
the thought of having to pay to use a road that my tax's are already paying for is just ludicrous.

The point being though that your taxes really aren't paying for these as they're privately built.
There's still the question of why our taxes aren't being used - but that's another issue.

ty ..
a very profound question... indeed
the latest budget papers show petrol taxes raised being $22.9 BILLION
and expenditure on roads and rail (can't split them) as $8.6 billion
and
included in that, is $675million (previously $545 million) for the Vic Govt for the Eastern link if its NOT going to be a tollway,
who have said nope don't want it coz ....
it will be built as a Tollway (cost $2.3billion) by private enterprise
with no funds from the Vic govt
but, a big BUT
the Vic govt think they can pull the wool over the eyes of Vic residents
coz while the construction costs will be born by private enterprise
the bloody govt has GUARANTEED that the company building and running it will get so much fees and profits each year and if not, the govt pays up
bloody hell
now that is really playing politics

Quoting Victorian Rider Handbook, page 10 Law For Motorcyclists, "Avoid lane splitting, which is riding between lines of moving vehicles. It is illegal and can be dangerous to riders".
Not the moving vehicles, so legal grey area, you can pass between if they are standing still.

If the tolls for bikes will be half that of the cage, and bikes only weigh 1 fifth of a cage, why is my rego 4 fifths that of our 4*4?

Yeah mate, but you see.... we only have to sacrifice a few a year to ride out roads! At least it's not coming out of my pocket.

How else do you expect them to pay for the water bill, that tunnel is leaking like a sieve,,,,, Next thing it will be the number of passengers in a car to increase the revenue ... Simple we just don't use the tunnel......
