You need to prepare to get a second bike for the track then....
It will cost you more to repair your road bike if you bin it, than what it will cost to buy a dedicated track bike.

Yeah that is a point but it will be a very long time before i am ready for that.

I went yesterday to sit on the 2011 ZX-6R and ZX-10R and i am sold on the ZX-6r although i noticed i could not get my feet fully flat on the floor. i can get the front part of both feet touching the ground but not flat.

Take both the 6 and the 10 for a test ride if you can see which bike you feel most comfortable with :)

It's good advice, although if you're only doing one day here and there or just for the experience it's understandable to take the risk if you feel confident, plus, it is satisfying passing kitted out trackies all day on your roadie 8) :D

You'll love the 6! :kuda:

Yeah Tim,

It will only be one day here or there. 95% of the time will be road riding.

I am leaning more to the 6 than the 10 but i have to wait till i get my full unrestricted license to test ride both.

Mate go a 600... And you dont NEED a track bike, I did about 8 track days on various road bikes and never pranged it!! (yes I know I fall over whilst stationary  )

You'll be hard pressed getting a test rude before you're fully licenced.

Is the 2008 model ZX-6R a good bike? How does it compare to 09+ models?

Completely different series of bike - no offense to the 07/08 year owners but it was the lost years for the zx6r, 09+ they were back on track and competitive again.

Stop listening to all the namby pambies and just go out and buy a 10. You'll be able to pull the most fooly sick wheelstands and burnouts and you won't get bored with it as fast. They are pussies to ride so don't sweat it.

Sorry Stu, I had a feeling you'd be around shortly

Doubt we'll find out for another 3months what the actual choice was.
